5.0 out of 5 stars Still Waiting... March 4, 2005
By CB
Format:VHS Tape
This show NEEDS to be on DVD. I've worn out two sets of VHS tapes. Shakespeare became more than an English class assignment and I now work in classical theatre, due, in some small part, to listening to the music of Vincent's words. The show's soundtrack is the first CD in the player for road trips. I want my Catherine and Vincent on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beauty and the Beast - the dream lives on. April 27, 2000
Format:VHS Tape
This first part to the series is the one so many people fell in love with and it is a must if you have never seen Beauty and the Beast before. For from that first episode so starts the relationship between the man beast Vincent Wells and the beautiful district attorney Catherine Chandler. From the very first this couple captured our hearts, especially Vincent, who soon had his own following - as everyone that watched the series wanted to take him home. Soon he became every woman's dream as to the perfect man, and it became apparent that outward appearances are not important, it is the beauty of the inner self that shines through any differences. That and the fact that Vincent has the most gorgeous blue eyes, gravelly sexy voice, a marvelous physique and a love of the finer things in life such as good music and literature. And Vincent made us review our own life and made us better people. Vincent was played to perfection by the man behind the makeup - Ron Perlman. And there is a marvelous chemistry that exists between Mr Perlman and Linda Hamilton the actress that plays Catherine Chandler, that made their roles oh so believeable. Buy it, watch it and you will be forever pleased that you did. There is a huge fan following for this show who are campaigning to have more episodes made and hopefully a movie too.

For all those who believe in love, this tape is for you. This video cntains two of the best shows from BB. First is Once Upon A Time in the City of New York. This show is the pilot for the show. It has our beauty ,Cathy, the victim of a terrible attack. Her savior Vincent is a man/beast. Cathy begins to wonder if she could ever lead a "normal life" now that Vincent is a part of her life. The emtioms that Cathy faces is so heartbreaking to watch that you may need some tissues on hand.BELIEVE IN LOVE.BELIEVE IN MAGIC.BUY THIS TAPE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please put out on DVD! December 28, 2004
By Viewer
Format:VHS Tape
Once upon a time, I was reading a book in my bedroom, when my father came dashing down the hallway, all excited. He said there was a show on TV with people dressed up rather old-fashioned, who played chess, lived in underground caves, and read the classics. He knew this show would interest me, and he was right! My parents and I watched every single episode, and all the reruns and absolutely loved the gentle messages and lessons each episode taught, the great cast, the originality of the series, the music, the heartbreak. This is one of the best series I have come across; other favourites of mine include Little House, Avonlea, Dr. Quinn, Alias, Joan of Arcadia. This short-lived series deserves to be put on DVD and please release the CD again, too. I wish this series would be resurrected and brought back to TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars True love endures even in death. April 18, 2001
Format:VHS Tape
I have always enjoyed watching this series and have almost all the episodes on tape. Though Lovers Be Lost for me is one of the best. I highly recommend it. I would love to get in contact with anyone who has tapes of this series, or good copies, that I might purchase, as I missed some critical ones. Such as "Pure and Faithful Knight, Ceremony of Innocence, A Time to Heal. I have the episodes after A Time to Heal, including the Invictus through the ending and finding of Vincent's son.
From a religious symbolic point of view, Vincent can be seen as a sort of Christ figure in some instances. This whole series is extremely rich in symbolism beyond the obvious interplay of characters. It was amazing what I gleaned when watching other episodes such as "Bless this Child, where the "Women at the Well,(getting the water) meets Vincent and really "sees" him for the first time. It wasn't until after I finished my Masters in Transpersonal Psychology, that I viewed the series again using it in a workshop seminar. I would love to share this with those who might be interested. I am definitely a real fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars More, More, More February 3, 2003
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
While I agree this episode in itself is quite dramatic & touching, I would have prefered the series continue with the story-line with which it began, instead of the ending which was written. And also would've prefered re-casting of the Catherine character. Like many other fans, I would like to see season II available on video at least, but would truly love to have the series in its entirety available on DVD. Furthermore, fans still long to see a tv movie or mini-series re-uniting the original classic cast. - The series as a whole is fantasy/romance at its zenith.
