This little unit works astonishingly well -- IF you throw a large towel over the top, to cover an open fresh air area that's just a bit too large IMO. But cover it up with a towel, which you can push aside to get fresh air when you want -- and it gets nice and warm in there, quite quickly, especially if you set it to "high" and "turbo." (The turbo setting is meant to get it to heat up faster, but you can leave it on to get the steam bath hotter.) If you do this, the steambath will be about the temperature of your average gym steambath. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this.

It does use 800 watts of power, probably more on the turbo setting; electric bill may go up a bit. No feedback on that yet, sorry.

It's small in there, but definitely manageable; it is perhaps about the size of a small apartment shower. This also means its footprint is pretty small. I put a bar stool in it, to be up higher where it's hotter, but you can put any small chair in it, sit on the floor, or stand. It really gets you sweating! (You CAN burn yourself on the steam vent if you don't watch out -- I learned this the first day.) Drink plenty of water -- AND you need to replenish the salt and other electrolytes you lose, as well.

I am dealing with chronic Lyme disease and other tickborne coinfections, and the main symptoms of pain, fatigue and fog-brain are all related to toxicity from either the Lyme itself or the treatments and die-off toxins. Steambaths make a HUGE difference, since the skin is an ideal detoxification route. I notice much better energy, some degree of pain relief (I work too much), and more mental clarity, while also being more relaxed -- The effect of just one steambath can be pretty dramatic if you're dealing with something like Lyme, CFS or Fibromyalgia.

Again, just be careful to replace water AND electrolytes. (Wound up in ER once from overdoing a very hot steambath, drinking loads of water, and getting salt-depleted. Do not let that happen to you.) This steambath at its hottest is an ideal temperature.

Very easy to clean up afterwards. Just wipe it down and carefully dump out the water on the removable floor mat. You can add eucalyptus or other essential oils. It's easy to clean the water pot. I am thrilled with this, and very pleased with how much better I feel after only 3 or 4 steambaths, about 20-30 minutes apiece. Not to keep raving, but I am just very pleasantly surprised and happy with it.

Easy to put together -- No problems at all, except for needing to cover that open area in front, which is easily done (and a towel over the top keeps the heat in better as well.)

We looked at a similar product made from plexiglass. It worked on the same principle (a pot that boils water in an enclosed small room). The price was almost $3,000. We also talked about remodeling our bathroom and changing out our tub/shower with a steam shower(about $10,000). We decided to try this product to see if we would use a steam room. We are really happy with this purchase. I bought a bar stool and placed it inside to sit on, and put a sheet of plexiglass on the cieling (inside the tent). My steam sauna has a vent in the window so I taped it up and use the zipper to control the heat. With these small changes it rivals any steam room at any fitness club (in heat not size).

I am giving this a one star because they don't say what kind of plastic film this is made from. Plasticizers (chemicals added to plastcs) or plastic break-down chemicals can constitute a health hazard. Under the conditions of heat, and you are confined inside, I would demand to know which plastics this thing is made from. Studies have shown "xenoestrogens" and many other compounds result from heating plastics. (Don't microwave plastic food containers!!!) For example, PE (polyethylene) is reasonably safe, but would be leery of vinyl. All in all, this is a good design, but you are not buying this to get exposure to carcinogenic chemicals!
I tried to go to the sellers store to ask about the plastics, what kind they are. Unlikely they will know but ignorance is no excuse when it comes to consumers health, IMO.

Okay, when you get this think you are going to laugh. I have had the product for about 2 years now and finally decided to review it. This product is basically a plastic cage, held up with basically wimpy pvc pipes inside. The steamer is basically a modified rice cooker.

I actually use this outside of my home, but under a covered lanai, and it is in a enclosure that prevents it from getting exposed to much sun, but does get exposed to a lot of moisture, because it is inside my shower enclosure. The rice cooker/steamer is quite able to tolerate being splashed on, but I would obviously not try to submerge this product.

Okay, this thing is not going to create the steam room at the gym, but I really don't like those steam rooms anyway, as I often find them very uncomfortably hot. This steam room does not get uncomfortably hot, but there maybe those who believe that it is not hot enough. However, if you turn the settings on high and give it about 30 minutes to really heat up and put a towel over the opening to keep trap the heat, you will get a very nice sweat going. I don't stand like they show in the picture. I am able to put a small outdoor chair inside and I find it very comfortable to be in there. I have a waterproof mp3 player that I use to add to the enjoyment.

The think i really like about the device, that you simply can not get with a traditional steamer devices, is the flexibility of what you can put into the device that steams your nasal and sinus systems. I take leaves from my lime tree and crumple them into it most often, but if I am stuffy or have a cold, I will put some oil of eucalyptus in there and my sinuses feel so much better. You can put many other products into the water bath of the steamer, but I really have not tried much more then the above, but I like the idea that I can.

Another, small negative is the steam diffuser, which seems to sometimes spit up some steam/water droplets right on to you if you are right next to the the diffuser that can mildly burn you. I find this is more a problem when the water is heating up, then when the steamer is already hot and a steady stream of steam is coming out. Anyway, for the price and if you don't get claustrophobic, and you aren't looking for that very hot steam experience you get at a full on gym/spa steam room, and you really like the idea of adding your own concoction of products into the steam device, then this product is for you.

I bought this product because I have very dry skin that gets very dry and cracks. this product and aquaphor are great for my skin and does wonders. half hour a day and kind of makes the skin look youthful my opinion only. good for opening up sinuses as well. if you want it really hot lay a towel on top the sauna.

Sets up very easily and quickly. No tools needed. Literally just a few minutes. I put in a bar stool to sit on and a towel over the vent holes. As others have said, the towel over the fresh air hole is needed in order to keep the steam in. I don't know why people complain about the air vent holes. For 2 bucks you can buy a towel for them or for $2000 you can buy a different style of steam sauna. Seriously folks, buy a towel. Add a little aromatherapy salts and it is bliss! Hard to find this kind of bliss for a mere 200 bucks. I get mine almost painfully hot in 30 mins then lower the temp, get in, and reset the timer. The picture displayed is a little off as the door opens from one side and not down the middle as pictured. No worries though. It's nice. I would buy it again.

Easy set up and easy to use.The steamer took a little while to really get hot enough to feel like a sauna.I suggest to turn the steamer on for at least 15 minutes before going in, on turbo setting. Never really use it on low.Most likely it'll take much longer.To really speed up the heat,putting a towel over the opening will help.All in all ,not a bad product for the price.

Item arrived quickly and it works amazenly !! it's better if you get a chair to sit down rather than standing. I purchase the sauna because I suffer from dry skin and now my skin is glowing and soft and on top of all that I FEEL RELAXED and stress free.

Unit works wonderfully,Will make you sweat big time which will help
and revitalize Dry skin and help get rid of toxins.

after obsessive use of this sauna i started to lose weight and end up losing 34 pounds...i needed to lose a 100lbs when out of the blue the steamer wouldn't power up anymore...i found out where i can get the steamer replaced, but i have to buy it and the steamer alone cost a $100 to replace it...thats half of the price i paid for the sauna in the first place not a good deal at all...
