5.0 out of 5 stars emoish-hardcoreish-jazzy-metalish rap-punk?, October 15, 2003
This review is from: The Beauty Of The Unknown (Audio CD)
That's the best way to describe this album. I haven't heard a LOT of the first cd, but I may go buy it just because of this one. I have had this cd for quite a while now. This cd rocks. The beginning kicks off with a very nice jazzy section w/ piano and nice drums, then it kicks your head open and fires away. This album mixes the best aspects of rapcore with jazz, punk, metal, and GORGEOUS harmonies. All with indie FEELING production. Production kudos on this one. This producer is one of the best if you follow him. The guitar tracks are excellent here, with a diverse array of tones and arrangements, all mixed together brilliantly to make the most of it all. And attention math metal/fusion fans! While there are no 13/8 time signatures on this cd, there are alot of cool change ups (swing time to cut time and back on "As it feels good"), time signature changes (4/4 and 6/8 on "Save this fakeness") and time signature blendings (Intro samples to "someone to blame" and the 2/4 punk beat superimposed on 6/8 in "to live".) Favorite cuts include "Pointing fingers" (Metal intro, jazz-chord chorus, rapcore verse, worshipful interlude, all with the GORGEOUS harmonies), "As it feels good" (every punk song should sound like this), "Anymore" (great hardpunk chorus beats, very ambiguous about the key signature until the kickoff, awesome!), "Escape" (hardrock supreme! and great kick pattern on the reggae-flavored verses), "Goodbye without you" (a beautiful song, perfectly mixed), and the album ender "This song's for you" (beautifully simple acoustic piece, a love song that says so much with so little). All songs are great, there's even a jazzer on there. The vocals are wonderful. The guitarist gets my vote for hardrock guitarist of the year, but the most amazing on this is the drummer/vocalist. While not playing on every song, he play on all the best drum songs, and his vocals are killer. Great band, diverse, all with an indie/emo feel. Buy it!

I heard this album from my first band about a year ago. I fell in love with it in the first listen. It's not like those other rock/alternative bands you here, many different elements in this cd. I would seriously pick it up if you want something different and with deeper meaning too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! God bless.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, October 14, 2003

I bought the first Justifide CD and was pretty impressed though it wasn't one of my favorite CDs. Well, then I heard about this, their second CD and decided to buy it. I was blown away. The band has matured so much it's amazing. They rock really hard with fast, wicked good riffs in there. If you like any kind of hard, awesome rock, you should love this CD. It's so underrated too. I don't know why it's not a lot more popular. Anyway, buy this CD or you're a nerd.

Their first disk, Life outside the Toybox, was an original effort by an unknown band. now, on their sophmore album, you can tell that their style has changed. They are totally confident in their music now, and it shows in the complete energy that their CD brings across. Buy this Album if you are a fan of well written punk/rock music. Yes, it is a christian band, adn yes, several of their songs deal with this, but they have good music, adn that is what should count
