An Excellent Collection of Philip Glass,
This review is from: Of Beauty & Light: The Music of Philip Glass [Box Set] (Audio CD)
Just to clarify from the previous review, this set collects the 3 cds of Philip Glass's music currently on the Naxos label. The fourth bonus cd is the Sonic Rebellion release, which is a compilation of pieces by twentieth century composers such as John Cage, Penderecki, Ligeti, etc. The performances on this set are all very good, and they show some of Glass's strongest compositions. If you are also interested in the disc of 20th century music, or think this would be cheaper than buying the 3 Naxos releases individually, then it makes a worthwhile purchase.

Philip Glass, Of beauty and light,

This review is from: Of Beauty & Light: The Music of Philip Glass [Box Set] (Audio CD)
This set is great, I love 3 out of the 4 albums; the 3 being his music, and the 4th being some type of cover album, of which I only gave one listen, but it didn't impress me.
Anyway, I recommend it for the other three. They are great to listen to while cooking, working, sewing, having dinner, or just relaxing. Cheers!

good selections but questionable 4th disc,

This review is from: Of Beauty & Light: The Music of Philip Glass [Box Set] (Audio CD)
I have not bought this set, but I have heard all the music on it from other sources. The symphonies are good, but I was not sure what was on every disc since there is no listing on Amazon. I went to the Naxos website to see the track listings for the 4 cd's, and the 4th one had a listing of compostions by people other than Philip Glass. I am not sure if this is a mistake, or if the 4th disc actually has other music. It is questionable to say the least, so I am not going to buy this.
