decent but product recommendations put me off,

The cover is beautiful and the glossy pictures inside enticing. Lots of information in nuggets (e.g., a list of hair care tips in short paragraphs with boldface headings, like a fashion magazine article) on a wide variety of topics. Quotes and tips from stars and models are fun if you enjoy that sort of thing (btw, author was a model and has written other books about modeling).What I found downright strange, though, was the inclusion of specific product recommendations as part of the book's advice (e.g., "...try Avon Treatment Cream X or Lancome Lotion Y" etc.). Huh? I expect that from Vogue et al. but not from a book that I want to refer to five years from now. Made me wonder... Did companies get paid for product listings? Did the editor feel the need to flesh out the content with product recommendations? Hmmmm. Worth checking out -- try and look over a copy before you buy. If you're really interested in finding out more, go to any major search engine and search on the phrase "susan morris beauty". Good luck!
