This review is from: The Beauty Quotient Formula: How to Find Your Own Beauty Quotient to Look Your Best - No Matter What Your Age (Hardcover)
I thoroughly enjoyed The Beauty Quotient Formula. The book was easy reading with lots of interesting anecdotes. It was also full of great advice and good tips for looking and feeling good about yourself. The information was very well organized so you can move from section to section depending on your particular interest. The scope and range of topics was helpful and and the emphasis on "less is more" seemed both healthy and sensible. A good read with excellent advice for personal well-being as well as "beauty."

Beauty Quotient hits home,

This review is from: The Beauty Quotient Formula: How to Find Your Own Beauty Quotient to Look Your Best - No Matter What Your Age (Hardcover)
I found this enlightening - a grand reminder to love the body you're in as opposed to ten ways to change it. To enhance what you have and not whine about what you don't. Accentuating the positive - from a plastic surgeon is refreshing. Everyone has positives. The tips on what you could do today to be the best you can be was grand for someone who is not overly patient. And then I took note of what one could do in four days... and then four weeks. The best part? It's all do-able. You don't need a huge bank account, a trip to a spa or a deprivation diet. Every day - with five minutes here and there - you can do something to enhance not only what you look like - but importantly - how you feel about yourself. How you can greet each morning with a welcoming smile. Dr. Tornambe is not just interested in helping you discover your skin-deep beauty. He encompasses the whole person. I will refer to this book over and over again.

After reading The Beaty Quotient Formula, I have a new perspective on myself. I no longer focus on imperfections, I accentuate my positive attributes. It gave me a new outlook. I realize that sexiness comes from within. Confidence, a smile and a positive outlook goes a long way. Every woman should read this book.

Every once in a while you read a book that you can relate to and this is one. The 3rd commandment of the BQ 10 commandments is "Accept the Age you are...and make it better", and is one that especially hit home. I am going to take Dr. Tornambe's advice to try harder to have a zest for life, to stop whining and start doing, and to count my blessings ... all with a little more mascara and a lot more exercise. How refreshing to have a plastic surgeon say that you can't own your beauty if you aren't confident in your own skin. However, there is really good information on plastic surgery procedures and treatment plans that everone should know before they decide to have any procedure. You need to read this book!

I found this book highly informative and chock full of useful information. Being in the beauty business myself, the book's core philosophies are more relevant than ever for todays celebrity obsessed, beauty at any cost culture. Dr. Tournnambe's straight forward prose and useful, real life tips should prove useful to any woman looking to make the most of what God has given her!

The book has a quiz. The results are keyed to page numbers in the printed book. The Kindle version only displays Kindle locations, which change depending on the size of type you choose, not the printed book pages. Do not buy the Kindle version if you expect to use your quiz results to guide you the appropriate pages in the book. You won't be able to. This is aggravating. I wish I hadn't purchased it.

The Beauty Quotient does a great job of examining the patient's motives behind the decision to have plastic surgery and provides, from the doctor's persepctive (!!) some cogent arguments against surgery. Dr. Tornambe does a very nice job of encouraging women to think twice before opting for the knife and he offers some terrific advice about making changes without benefit of a surgeon. It's refreshing, insightful and engagingly written. This is agreat resource for women of all ages who want to take an honest look, not just at themselves, but at how society defines beauty. It's a good way to get back to reality about the often distorted self-image that we carry with us all the time!

Every single woman considering cosmetic surgery should read this book first. Dr. Tornambe writes very candidly and the information in this book mirrors the conversations you would have with him if you were standing in his office. I would know because I was a patient of his! His entire approach to cosmetic surgery and looking your best is refreshing and 100% how a cosmetic surgeon's perspective should be. It's such a blessing that he has written this book and I truly hope that readers appreciate his input/knowlege. I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to read this book and to be his patient as a 20 something female because it certainly helps to outline my approach to beauty as I grow older!

A world-renown plastic surgeon as concerned with inner well-being as outer beauty? With his patients' confidence as much as their contours? Revolutionary. I'm an actress; in my work, looks matter. As I read Dr. Tornambe's "Beauty Quotient" I felt like I was having a heart-to-heart with a trusted, candid, knowledgeable and funny friend who just happens to be one of New York's finest plastic surgeons. He dispenses common-sense advise on how to look and feel beautiful without surgical intervention, everything from posture to hair to personal style to scent! And when it comes to medical procedures, he tells it like it really is - the good, the bad, the ugly and the painful. I especially liked his honest appraisal of the pros and cons of various procedures, and what to expect. A must-read for anyone considering "having a little work done" and/or seeking tips on looking and feeling his or her best.
