5.0 out of 5 stars THE reason I stayed at Calvary chapel so long!!!, March 21, 2005
This review is from: Beauty of Simplicity (Audio CD)
I attend (used to attend)service at the church that Telecast (known to us as Sway)would lead in worship, and even though the church is prettty far out of our way, from the very fist time I heard them I WAS HOOKED, and consequently we went to Calvary chapel for over a year, primarily to be a part of this worship!!

The thing I love most about this group, is that they don't have the "typical" christian sound. There is some truly gifted songwriting/performing that lends to a more alternative sound. The tunes are down right catchy, and I defy even non-christians to not enjoy this album!!! They don't sneak around the message at all, they have a clear love for Jesus and this resounds in their music. I highly recommend this album to all!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great honest Christian Rock and Praise--Just good music!, June 12, 2004

Telecast's "Beauty of Simplicity" is a wonderful cd of Christian Rock music. The lyrics are honest, simple and free of Christian cliche and are very adaptable for use in a contemporary music worship service or even just at home. The music itself is fresh unlike so many other Christian rock albums on the market. My favorite songs are "Beauty of Simplicity" and "Radiate." Their sound is rather brit-pop, most like the music of Travis. If you like Coldplay or Switchfoot's latest, you will like Telecast.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must buy, October 13, 2004
This review is from: Beauty of Simplicity (Audio CD)
Telecast is such a great band. Not afraid to sing about Jesus, very talented group of guys (Josh White is an amazing song writer). They sound a little like coldplay, but better yet they love and are not afraid to sing about and worship Jesus. I can't find a song on this album that I don't thoroughly enjoy- I can't wait to hear what they come out with next. I also recommend a CD entitled "Empty Me- Volume 1" which has a song of theirs entitled "Empty Me Out" which is another great song of theirs. I strongly recommed this album to anyone out there, no matter what age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible rock & roll music...., June 12, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Beauty of Simplicity (Audio CD)
...that JUST HAPPENS to be Christ-focused. Anyway, I think the CD is simply awesome (6 stars!). I've listened to this CD nearly every day since it was released... and it just keeps getting better! (just about worn a hole in it!) Maybe it's because they don't sound like "your typical Christian rock group". But make no mistake: this is a labor of love aimed at worshipping Jesus Christ....and the band makes that perfectly clear with their lyrics and their behavior. Their sound might put you in mind of ColdPlay - though Telecast has their own sound. Their lyrics/melodies are fresh, uplifting, clean, and, yes...inspiring! Makes me wanna thank God for giving me ears to hear!!!! Whether you're 'sold out for Christ' or not, you won't be disappointed in this CD (though the hardest part will be in not blasting the volume on a couple of the songs!!). ;-) BTW: they'll be at CreationFest (west) in July 2004... Radiate!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Monumental Modern Worship release, October 16, 2003

The new Telecast release "The Beauty of Simplicity" may just be the best modern worship album of all time. That's right music fans...the best modern worship album of all time. Telecast has over night, become the new standard bearer with musical and lyrical integrity far beyond anything I've heard in quite some time. I realize I'm out here on a limb but fans of modern worship will be absolutely astonished at this work. My knees are still knocking as I am totally unable to get over this new release.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh breeze in an all-too-familiar genre, September 16, 2003

Telecast: "Beauty of Simplicity"

Josh White (Vocals, songwriter, & acoustic) was a member of Seattle regional band Man Ray just six short years ago. But then he met Jesus Christ. With his friend Brian Ortize (guitar, harmony vocals), they heard God's calling to lead Christians in worship. But they didn't have a band. So Brian called Marquis Ashley (bass), Zach Hodges (keys), and Nick Tibbetts (drums), all former members of indie-rock group Buddy Ruckus. Friend Adam Breeden also came on to add his lead guitar talents, and Telecast was formed. Less than a year later, their album was released with BEC Recordings.

Producer Aaron Sprinkle (Zao, Stavesacre, Pedro the Lion) has produced a British pop-rock sound influenced by Coldplay, The Verve, and David Bowie. Songs "The Way" and "Come To Me Quickly" are dangerously "hooky". But Telecast is talented enough to rock even without production. Brian Ortize (guitar, vocals) provides tremendous background vocals. Adam, Zach, and Nick are tight and offer a textured mixture of rhythm and melody.

This CD rocks from the first track to the last. White's lyrics are beautiful, yet simple- hence the album title. For anyone who is tired of worship songs that fail to capture what God really means to them, The Beauty of Simplicity is a must have.

I like simple lyrics that just glorify God and paint a portrait of Him. Telecast is amazing at this... This album touched me deeply and is sure to be a favorite for a long time to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Radiant Worship, June 2, 2006
By
This review is from: Beauty of Simplicity (Audio CD)
This a great rock worship CD! It has a Coldplay-like voice and sound with great guitars and Josh White has wonderful, heartfelt vocals. Some of the songs begin to sound similar but all make you want to sing along in a British accent just like Josh. Highlights include: The Way, The Beauty of Simplicity, Covered, Radiate, and Define. Telecast has a knack of emphasizing each word, each praise to God, and they do it unlike any other Christian artist today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, March 15, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Beauty of Simplicity (Audio CD)
Wow... one of my all-time favorite albums. I am so so sad to learn that Telecast has lost Brian Ortize, because I think he is an amazing addition to this band. I can (and do) listen to this CD for hours!

This is some real innovative music, in terms of Christian music. It's closest secular comparison would probably be Coldplay. Even my non-Christian friends really loved songs like "The Way."

I would recommend this CD to anyone, especially if you are in the market for a wonderful Christian CD... The Beauty of Simplicity has beautiful, layered music AND beautiful lyrics that focus your praise on God.
