5.0 out of 5 stars I was skeptical but it is a great product!
I have to say that I was not really expecting a lot from this product. It is inexpensive and is plain but I tried it. I am so glad I did, this is by far my favorite C serum. I have noticed some big changes in my skin over the last few weeks; it is brighter, clearer and more radiant. I only wish they made it in bigger jars.

This is one of my favourite serum besides Murad. After I used it for a few weeks, my skin looked so bright and smooth. After cleansing, I use Avalon Facial Toner, and then I follow with this Vitamin C Serum.

Those ingredients are terrific and good for your skin. I am using the second bottle right now, and I will definitely keep using this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Radiant Skin, May 19, 2008
After trying the Vitamin C Moisture Plus Lotion with SPF 15, I noticed that Vitamin C creams showed amazing results. My skin was tighter, firmer and looked more toned. In fact, I felt that my skin looked younger.

This is perhaps one of the best anti-aging secrets around. At least when you apply vitamins topically, you can see fast results.

This topical serum will improve your skin circulation, clarity, tone and even the texture. It will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, especially when applied with an extra helping of aloe vera gel.

This is a highly concentrated formula. You will be tempted to use this all over your body. I put a bit of this serum with all my skin lotions for an all-over body treat. You can apply this before your face moisturizer or mix it in with your body creams.

This specific Vitality Serum has Activated vitamin C (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate). This is a stabilized form of Vitamin C. It is a powerful antioxidant that defends against the damaging effects of free-radicals. Once you read about free-radicals in Stephen Cherniske's book: The Metabolic Plan, you understand the war you are in and your body needs assistance!

This product is not tested on animals and has 100% vegetarian ingredients! It will protect your skin from the signs of aging, stimulate cell renewal and make your skin look radiant.

70% Certified Organic Ingredients including: Botanical Infusion of Green Tea, Papaya and Cucumber, Aloe Vera, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (vitamin C), Vegetable Squalane, Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E), Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), Rose Hips Extract, Borage Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Allantoin, Cocoa Butter, Retinyl Palmitate (vitamin A), Ergocalciferol (vitamin D), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rose Essence, Xanthan Gum, Vegetable Glycerine, Sodium Citrate, Methyl/Propylparaben, Orange Oil, Beta Carotene

I've also noticed that the "orange oil" makes me feel happy. I think it lifts your mood a bit each time you use this product.

This product has a wonderful scent. I've also used Source Naturals Skin Eternal Serum which has a more lemon scent and is also highly recommended. Skin Eternal Serum also has Vitamin C, but has added products like alpha-lipoic Acid, Lavender oil and Chamomile Flower Extract.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to love it, but not for me, August 17, 2011

I really wanted this to work for me but I will not be buying Avalon Organic Vitamin C serum again. PROS: The packaging is great, the glass bottle and plastic pump conveniently and hygenically dispenses product. The ingredients are great and the milky, silky texture of the serum smooths over and absorbs easily into the skin. By itself it could suffice as a moisturizer for oily skin during the sticky summer months, despite the light texture hyaluronic acid and olive squalane oil are hard-working moisturizers. You can easily apply a richer moisturizer over top, and it wears well under mineral makeup. CONS: It clogs my pores and causes small pimples, even on parts of my face where I never break out! I used this product for over a month and realized by process of elimination that this was what was causing my skin to go downhill. :( When I stopped using it my skin cleared up fast. Bummer! I am pretty sure it was the cocoa butter that did it. From past experience I know that pure cocoa butter breaks me out; it even gives me body acne and can clog pores around my lips if I use it like chap stick. Even the trace amount in this serum was too much for my face.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ingredients Have Changed!, January 27, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vitamin C Vitality Serum 1 oz. (Misc.)
Buyer beware: This product has been reformulated as of 1/27/2012 (or earlier?). After trying many serums, I was so excited to finally find one that really did seem to tighten my skin, give me a youthful glow, and reduce sun spots (brown patches). I have fair, sensitive skin and don't normally wear perfumes and I enjoyed the light fragrance of this product.

However, I don't think I'll be buying it again. Unfortunately, the company has reformulated the product. It no longer includes magnesium ascorbyl phosphate as the form of Vitamin C. It now contains ascorbic acid, and it's almost near the end of the ingredient list, leading me to believe it isn't very potent in Vitamin C.

Also, the smell is no longer nice. Instead of fresh citrus, To me it smells like over ripe or rotting oranges.

It's too bad that a great product had to change. Why? I don't know. The company's customer relations department couldn't tell me. I'm also a fan and user of the renewal facial cream, which she said also has been reformulated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another husband is stealing it ;-), February 22, 2011
This review is from: Vitamin C Vitality Serum 1 oz. (Misc.)
I was using some vitamin C serums which didn't provide any noticeable results, they were full of things I wasn't too happy to put on my face + their price was ... well, daylight robbery.

I have insensitive combination skin, the only trouble is that it's prone to shining - but Avalon day cream solved this.

Well, this serum is "something completely different" as Monthy Pythons would say: there is nothing to point at, but it's the first time that skin product gave me some noticeable results. Skin seems ... well, just better, sort of more alive. Besides, (not very dark) pigmentation I had for years gradually disappeared after a few months of using this serum.

Smell is incredible nice, orange, natural, not overpowering (cream from the same line has even nicer one). Skin virtually drink it. For those who doesn't have dry skin and don't like SPF it can also substitute moisturiser, especially in summer.

50 ml is lasting long. Since my mother is pharmacist I gave her the list of ingredients and she says they are fantastic.

When my husband smelt it on me he liked the smell so much that he tried it - and from that day he's stealing it on regular basis. He has dry, but not sensitive skin and adores it.

After this serum I started to use other products of this line and I'm perfectly satisfied. I use much less products with better results than I used to.

I'm amazed that this really nice, long lasting product with great ingredients, decent effectiveness & beautiful smell is so inexpensive. Probably because Avalon doesn't care about fancy bottles. I like such an attitude a lot.

3.0 out of 5 stars No result but feels good on skin, November 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Pros:

smells great

light on face; non greasy--most time (smooth feeling)

moisturizing

Cons:

broke out terribly

not a slight difference than before

I'm pretty sad with all the great reviews, I'm a 23 year old and have been taking good care of my skin but after trying this, I broke out in a couple of areas. I would still use it because it helps with my flaky skin around the nose. However, I would rather spend the extra money on Clinique; at least their products shows results.

UPDATE (3 WEEKS IN):

Initially when I first used it, it was moisturizing but then it stop. Maybe because I got used to it or something but it stop working for me. The area around my nose, side of my nose, and side of my mouth started to feel dry and flaky.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brightens skin, June 14, 2010

This review is from: Vitamin C Vitality Serum 1 oz. (Misc.)
I purchased this product over other vitamin C serums based on the reviews. I have sun-damaged skin that is not oily, but clogs very easily and I have to be very careful with the products I choose. This immediately made my skin more plump, but I did have a couple break outs during the first two weeks. I stuck it out because I knew it was doing something good and after the 4th week, I started noticing my sun spots lightening, my pores tightening up and an overall smoother appearance on my face. Nothing overly dramatic, my favorite serum is still Arbonne, but based on the price and the ingredients, I am very happy with it and will buy it again. I added the Avalon Organics moisturizer after the 4th week of serum and unfortunately, it did not work well with my skin and caused my pores to clog.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely priced; brightens skin, April 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Avalon Vitality Serum with Vitamin C is a nicely-priced product that helps

brighten the skin. Its texture is such that it also has acted as a nice primer for my make-up. It is definitely not oily, and I wouldn't say it moisturizes, but it does treat discolorations and brighten skin. I have mixed it with a light moisturizer, and it goes on well without the pilling action. I would recommend this as a great alternative to high-priced products, with much the same result.

I love this stuff! I have used many more expensive C serums but always come back to this one. Try it, you will like it. I only wish it came in bigger bottles.
