A Feel Good Book With a Moral,
By mcz (San Jose, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Because Brian Hugged His Mother (Paperback)
My son and I have read this book many times, over and over, and it does not loose its "feel good" effect. The message is obvious, dealing with the propagation of kindness, and is presented at a level that children understand and appreciate. Those who have criticized its "execution", either are without children or can not appreciate the fun children have with such a style. My family finds this book to be a delightful gem.

Wonderful, heartwarming lesson in compassion,

I read this book to my two young boys and felt it was a great testament to how compassion and acts of kindness can expand outward and help those around us. The book comes full circle back to the character Brian which I thought greatly demonstrated cause and effect. Wonderful book.

Pay it forward,
This review is from: Because Brian Hugged His Mother (Paperback)
This is the story about how a simply kind action can cause a chain reaction of wonderful things for many people, even those we may never meet.
It's a great character education story about caring and kindness.

A favorite!!,

I read this book aloud to my first grade class every year. It is one of their favorites. It is a wonderful example of the ripple effect. Our actions do affect the energy around us. Children can understand the text, and pictures are beautiful. It helps us begin our conversations about making the world around us better - one person at a time. Also a great way to introduce children to small acts of community service that can grow through mindfulness and compassion.

Such a simple story, but one that can be read over and over again without its magic dimming.
