This book was written for me...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Because I Said Forever: Embracing Hope in an Imperfect Marriage (Paperback)
I would recommend this book to anybody having doubts about their marriage and feeling disappointed that their dreams they've held all their life have not held up in realty. The author gets into your head, knows your thoughts, because everything hypothetical situation she discussed I could relate to, either through my thoughts or by my actions. It's especially helpful if you have kids and you feel desperate to find a healthy and christian perspective. I plan to pass this book on to my church library (although I'll keep a copy for reference) and pass it on to others struggling. I think when it comes down to it, this book just reinforces that the world is not perfect, we 'are' human, and therefore, we will make mistakes...it's how you respond to those mistakes that's important.

This book is for anyone who is looking for a book that will help them if they are wanting to keep their marriage vows and to make their marriage work even in very difficult and stressful circumstances. If you are at the end of your rope and have tried everything you know of and still are feeling like you can't find answers on how to survive in your marriage, this book is for you! I have read many books on marriage and relationships and this is by far the best. It is practical and honest.

Because I Said Forever is a Wonderful Book,
By Kayla Hogans (Houston, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Because I Said Forever: Embracing Hope in an Imperfect Marriage (Paperback)
This is by far the best book I have ever read on the subject of marriage. It was easy to read and offered really good information on how to make your marriage work in a "not so perfect marriage." I have given this book to a friend as a gift and I think she will enjoy it as well. It has made me a differnt person.

Not for the Faint-hearted!,
By Deb Watson (Warroad, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Because I Said Forever: Embracing Hope in an Imperfect Marriage (Paperback)
Because I said Forever is not written for the faint-hearted! This book is written for the woman who truly wants God's will in her life more than she wants her own. Reading it will give you a fresh vision of what it looks like when you choose to trust God.
Deb's insights have come from applying these truths in her own life. Through perseverance and dependence on God she models what it means to say forever. Her road was not easy. Her journey was long. Her commitment was found in continually seeking God as the answer to her needs and in doing so she was not disappointed. If you are a woman who finds herself trapped in an seemingly hopeless marriage, then this book is a must read. If you are a woman who has begun to take your marriage for granted, you too should read this! This book challenged me to reconsider how I demonstrate my love and respect to my husband of 35+ years. "Because I Said Forever" should be in every church library.

I bought this book just because of the title. It described why leaving is not an option for me. I am married to a wonderful man and father when he's not slipped into his Internet Pornography addiction. I also bought a book that was supposed to be for wives of men struggling with sexual addictions; but this book was by far - leaps and bounds - the better book. She gives practical advice that gives you some power but allows you to still be the Christian, Godly person you were designed to do with grace and dignity. This book was exactly what I needed and I will recommend it to everyone who needs it!

Wonderful, this book helped save my mariage.,
By Violet (CT, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Because I Said Forever: Embracing Hope in an Imperfect Marriage (Paperback)
As I read this book I was able to learn how to be true to my beliefs as a christian woman and still assert myself. The things I learned from this book enabled me to be my own best friend and advocate. My husband has changed measurably in his behavior toward me. We both continue to improve. One of he best things I learned about in this book was setting boundries, and enforceing them. I am no longer tossed about by emotional garbage but can step back and see clearly whats happening. Then I can make a rational decision on how to respond to him.
