First, Even though this trilogy trends is annoying, serialization is like prostituting a book, 50 pages at a time. I am glad my trigger index finger did not click Buy It Now until the full book was released. An author does him/herself a huge disservice by trying to bring another Christian Grey, Edward Cullen to the pages of their books. Both of these anti heroes belong to other authors and I believe it is an authors job to create a unique set of characters, with their OWN storylines and not try to write a pale imitation of the originals. Ian Noble was more than an anti hero...he was souless. Trying to redeem him in the last few pages was dishonest. while not a Beth Kery fanatic, I absolutely adored Exposed To You but this book is just one more author trying to cash in on the 50 Shades wave but what makes this particular book even more detestable is this book was dribbled out 2 or 3 chapters at a time. In doing this I question the author's integrity and the integrity of their art. The intimate portions of this book were bizarre...on one hand they read like a trip to the gynecologists office and then would become just a bit raunchy (which I don't mind a all). Of course, as usual, we have another virgin, so in an effort of oneupmanship her deflowering takes place in a completely improbable location. At this rate, a deflowering of a virgin will most likely take place on the pitchers mound at Yankee Stadium during the break in a double header (pardon the pun). I read this book yesterday and can't remember the heroine's name...that shoud tell you something. I can only remember Ian's name because he was so detestable...he was cruel and his redemption was well outside the realm of comprehension. I noticed Ms.Read more ›

I'm as innocent as virgin Francesca on page 1, when it comes to this type of not-just -kinda-kinky sex novel. From reading the description on the back cover it seemed to be an ordinary romance novel. In the cover summary there was no mention of tying up young innocent females or spanking and whipping ladies' bottoms and breasts; or no mention about butt plugs and anal sex or putting naive women in suspended contraptions to facilitate the pummeling of their rectums because they supposedly didn't behave as expected. Geez, I think that I need to be "punished" for buying such a ridiculous book. Get out the paddle! There is no romance in this novel, it's a book about a young, virgin woman who gets her first taste of sex via a twisted, ice-cold, domineering, male rapist; although these sessions are amazingly consensual. Then somehow she falls in love with this mal-adjusted, freak Ian. Grow a spine Francesca! The characters in the book have no depth. The story line is weak. And how many times are the same phrases used over and over again?: "Ian's nostrils flared", blah, blah, blah. I read the book in it's entirety and I will not be buying the sequel. Note to author: we drive on the same side of the road in Paris as we do in Chicago.

Book Description

Francesca Arno didn’t know what hit her when she captured the attention of wealthy British businessman, Ian Noble. Once he has commissioned her to create a painting for his new building, she is stuck in close quarters with him as the view she paints can only be seen from his luxurious penthouse. Although she knows the enigmatic man could really break her innocent heart, she can’t stop herself from exploring her sexually submissive side even as she struggles over the term. Ian is a dominate in and out of the bedroom with his eyes set on the very innocent and sweet Francesca.

That first spark…

“She turned. Noble’s gaze was directly on her. A hot, heavy sensation expanded in her belly. She didn’t have time to draw breath before he was stalking across the room toward her…”

Review

Because You Are Mine was a fantastic read! Beth Kery delivers a sizzling hot erotic romance featuring two completely opposite people, innocent virgin Francesca and sexually dominant and BDSM god Ian. Suffice it to say the sex scenes went beyond steamy and straight to raging fire (I’m still tingling with aftershocks!). These scenes are so detailed they could be considered instructional manuals with some kinky tips and tricks with whips, paddles, and toys galore. Hot, hot, H-O-T!

Unlike the virginal Anastasia Steele of Fifty Shades of Grey, which many people reference in their review of Kery’s book, Francesca is open to learning about the world of BDSM and is ready to please Ian as long as it gives her pleasure in the process. She takes the whole sexual world in stride unlike the forever timid Anastasia.

Ian and Francesca, two very stubborn people, she an aspiring artist, he a billionaire!

They meet at a cocktail party in her honor, here begins their romance, although Ian would have you believe otherwise. He has had years of hiding his emotions, even having the truth hidden from him, He really doesn't do love, thought he could just have a completely sexual relationship with Francesca.

Francecsa such a tough fiesty girl, had a tough upbringing, always kept herself inconspicuous, under the radar, but could hold her own.

She was falling in love very early on, but desperately tried to hide it, at first Ian was very cold with his emotions, he was having an internal battle, but she stood up to him at every turn, I really loved her ballsy attitude. She wouldn't let him beat her down. When I thought she was getting through to Ian, he switched his emotions off and walked away, a cowardly move more than once, he so needed a kick up the bum.

I loved that Cesca went to London, to offer him support, but Ian decided that his private life was not of her concern, I thought she handled him very well, even in the bedroom, she really understood him.

I loved her roommates they were quite funny, especially their drunken night out, with her almost getting some ink! Ian really had Francesca under his skin, but did not and would not show it.

Maybe we will get to learn more about their happy ever after in Lucian's story, that would be nice
