Book Description

Superromance, 943 October 1, 2000

Meet Will and Becca Parsons, who've lived in Shelter Valley, Arizona, all their lives. Shelter Valley means everything to them. Home. Family. Security. Love. Everything that matters is right there in that town.

Will and Becca have been married for 20 years. It's a good marriage—a contented marriage—marred by only one disappointment: their inability to have children. But their dream of a baby has gradually been replaced by other interests, other goals.

In any case, Will and Becca are in their 40s now.

It's too late for babies.

Except it's not. Because Becca's pregnant. And that reality throws their carefully ordered lives into complete disarray.

A baby—after all these years.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very fresh romance, October 13, 2000
This review is from: Becca's Baby: Shelter Valley Stories (Harlequin Superromance No. 943) (Paperback)
In Shelter Valley, Arizona Rebecca and Will Parsons live a happy loving life together. Perhaps, the only regret shared by the duo after two decades of bliss is that they never had a child regardless of the fact that they both wanted one and kept trying. However, over time both accepts the obvious that no child is forthcoming. The barren scenario abruptly ends when at forty-two years old Rebecca becomes pregnant.

Suddenly, the idyllic world of Becca and Will is thrown into chaos. Goals were changed when it became obvious that Becca would never become pregnant. The elated Will, the president of Montford University, is as stunned as Becca is. However, Becca, who anticipated menopause, feels too old to start with the diaper brigade even as the townsfolk rally to help one of the kindest residents adjust.

BECCA'S BABY is a warm humanistic tale that takes the audience inside the head and heart of the title character. The secondary cast including Will augments the tale through their interactions with Becca. However, Becca will charm the audience as she psychologically and emotionally struggles with a radically unexpected change. She owns this novel. Tara Taylor Quinn provides a robust character study that may seem "un" romantic at first glimpse but remains worth reading by anyone who enjoys a fabulous look at the human psyche.

This review is from: Becca's Baby: Shelter Valley Stories (Harlequin Superromance No. 943) (Paperback)
Becca and Will Parsons live in a small community called Shelter Valley in Arizona. They have a good life together and are very well respected in the town where Becca is known for her social activism and Will is the President of Monford University in town.

They have a contented life, but for 20 years they have wanted a baby. Then Becca finds out that she is pregnant at 42. She does not feel that it is possible at her age to have a healthy baby at that age and so she decides to abort but Will wants the baby. Becca decides to keep the baby, but the problems that arose over her wanting to end her pregnancy threaten Becca and Wills marriage just as they get the very thing they wish for.

What happens next? Read Becca's Baby, and if you like that there are other books about the town and its people
