Was hesitant to order this one since measurements weren't included in the discription and no one had reviewed it yet, but took the plunged and ordered it (had free shipping (thank goodness!), so even better!

This is a great puppet theater. We have two young kids who, I know whould have fought to use one of the smaller puppet theaters, but this one is large enough to easily fit both of them behind. I forgot to measure, but I'd guess it at about 3 1/2 to 4 feet wide (or so). Big enough for even an adult and a child to be behind. My youngest seems to like to sit on the ledge. I try not to let her, but so far (it's only been a week), the ledge doesn't budge when she sits on it.

I'm really glad I chose this one and would do so again. One thing I will mention, is that it's heavy! Don't expect to be easily moving it from room to room or outside for that lemonade stand (although, it would be great for that!)

The price, the size, the sturdiness, the functionality, and the free shipping made this one a perfect choice for me.

I bought this for our preschool class. Just put it out today and the kids love it. Perfect for 2-3 kids to fit behind and sturdy enough that they don't knock it over. Measures 40" wide, and 52" tall, the ledge is 24" from the floor. Assembled easily. Caution- if the box was damaged in shipping, consider refusing it, as the hardware is not very secure in the box. I had to return the first one as the hardware fell out of a hole in the box, but Amazon customer service was easy to work with and they simply shipped me a new one. Excellent value- easily better than expensive ones ($200+) advertised in school catalogs!

This is a very sturdy puppet stage! I purchased this for our preschool class at church and the kids love it! Also loved the price. My only complaint is that it does get marks on the paint if you bump it against a hard surface, such as a doorway while moving it.

This is a very large and sturdy puppet theater. Would easily accomodate two children. The dimensions are 53 inches tall, 40.25 wide and 19 inches deep. Could double as a grocery stand - the shelf is deep enough for a cash register and there's plenty of room under to place bins. Very heavy. Hard to move. Really a piece of furniture! We love it!

Only complaint was with the condition of box - battered and torn, half of the hardware was missing. If this happens, most hardware stores should have replacements (actual furniture screws and fasteners). Still an excellent value.

i just bought this for my nephews pre school class and the second review is quite right if the box is damaged the screws are gone

This is a wonderful and sturdy puppet theater. I purchased it for our church for Sunday School classes. However, like the other reviews state, the unit arrived in a shoddy box with holes at the top and bottom. Thus, all the hardware was missing. This is so unusual for Amazon shipping that I wonder why they have not addressed this problem yet??

We got this puppet theater for our six and three-year-old granddaughters. When it was delivered, it looked like the box had been in a truck wreck. It had many feet of transparent packing tape wound around it to hold things together. When opened, the (light -weight) foam packing was broken and disintegrated. Fortunately, the bag of fasteners was still there, and only minor dings occurred to the theater pieces themselves. I will attempt to post a picture of the package as it arrived. It took about an hour to put the theater together by one person - it really is a two-person job! Once assembled, it seems very sturdy. The grandkids have already used it for puppet shows, and for recorder concerts. The design lends itself to a lot more uses than just a puppet theater - limited only by the kids' imagination!

I just assembled this theather for Christmas morning. Overall I would other reviews in saying it is nice looking, durable, and fairly large (perhaps 4' wide, 4'8" high, 2' deep. It is all red painted wood with a chalkboard n the front framed in yellow. It comes with a curtain -- although the curtain rod (about a 5/8" thick and 4' long dowell) was missing so we had to go find one at a hardware store.

I almost couldnt' find the hardware which comes in a small white box that is easily lost in the styrofoam packaging.

Assembly is perhaps 10-15 minutes of work if you have all the parts. 12 bolts hold it all together. Nothing else needed.

This puppet theatre is VERY well made and a great value. Solid wood, slick paint, and sturdy construction. The best one on the market I have seen. Punctual shipping and easy assembly. The box was distressed a bit when it came in, but everything was there in good order.

Ordered this for 4 year old grandaughter. Impressed by the finish quality and ease of assembly (although no instructions were included in package). Everything fit together quite precisely. Appears to be quite sturdy. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a children's puppet theater. Only negative may be the lack of a more decorative appearance but it appears that it would be easy to add personal touches such as stickers or stencils to the front and/or sides as desired.
