I've had a small pond (200 gal.) for 11 years now and have used a few different pond filter/pumps types over the years. Comparing this one to the others, this was the worst! After installing it in the pond, I had to mess with the almost every 3 days because this filter box has 3 layers of filters the course/fine filter pads in the the box and a fine screen built into the cover. The fine screen built into the cover got clogged up every 3 days which would almost stop the flow of water, I've never had a filter box with this built in. After about 1 month the pump included in the kit started running for 1 minute and then off for 3 minutes or so, like it over heated shut-off to cool off and started again over and over. I had been cleaning the filter on a regular basis for the month ~ every 3 days before this started to happen. The pump after a little over a month just died and that was it, I replaced this pond filter kit with the Pondmaster PMK1350 Pond Filter with 350-GPH Pump and Bonus Fountain Head and have been happy.

I love this kit have used several like it. I used this one as an addition to my newest pond and used the one I had like it in the new waterfall. So far it has been great, I have not had to clean it once and has been in there for over a month. the pond is crystal clear! Getting ready to purchase another one for back up since such a great deal!

Easy setup and everything works fine. Is very powerful for small pond, perhaps too powerful, and it doesn't have an adjustment.
