THE BEST OF BROWNING'S BECKETT SERIES!, January 6, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Beckett's Convenient Bride (Beckett's Fortune) (Paperback)
A murder, a mystery, lots of humour, and the undiluted animal magnetism between Carson Beckett and indepenent Kit Chandler Dixon make this book difficult to put down after just one chapter. I didn't read long before both Carson & Kit were fully-fleshed 3 dimensional characters. Colorful, artistic Kit, with her lovely Ladybug (VW) and red hair settles into a quiet life on the intercoastal waterfront, writing and illustrating children's books. Carson Beckett, a detective recovering from injuries, uses his time off to travel to NC to find the remaining Chandler heir and settle a generations-old debt. When Kit witnesses a murder, her life is tossed upside-down and an encounter with Beckett grows into an unexpected, unavoidable romance. I enjoyed this book.

Another Winner from Dixie Browning, January 9, 2003

This review is from: Beckett's Convenient Bride (Beckett's Fortune) (Paperback)
This book definitely stands alone. It's got everything--family relationships, jazzy dialog, sex, and humor that borders on the slapstick, but it never quite goes over the line. The characters, even the bit players, come alive and you're with them every step of the way. In a word, I'd call Beckett's Convenient Bride terrific!
