This review is for "Beckoning", but all of John Adorney's music is great.

At the time I first wrote this review, I had just discovered John Adorney through a sampler CD. "Beckoning" was the first of his CDs that I bought. I cannot get enough of his music. He is creative and highly talented.

This is my review of all three Adorney CDs. For me, his music is like a religious experience. At the same time, it is soothing and relaxing yet energizing. There are several tracks, including 'Celebration,' on the 'Beckoning' CD, and 'Always' on 'Waiting for the Moon' CD, that I will play over and over. I simply cannot get enough of them.

I am not a serious musician, so I cannot give a technical critique. However, I find the instrumentation and arrangements to be superb. The music surrounds you with emotional warmth!

Buy all three CDs!

Hi gang. If you're like me, you're always on the lookout for those very special CD's that really flood both your mind and heart with the wonderful aroma and color that is unique to really good music. As a professional programmer, I have to listen to music when I program or I'll go absolutely nuts. This CD is really something. I've only had it a few days but I've already listened to it countless times. If you appreciate creative and beautiful arrangements of really nice music, you'll surely enjoy this CD as much as I do. First class stuff. Enjoy!

Unlike many New Age compositions which strive to be dramatic with extended pauses and silence, this CD achieves its drama by layering exciting rythms with enticing harmonies.
This is a CD to be "listened to". The music is not content to be played in the background while reading the newspaper. If you try, you'll find yourself reaching for the volume to turn it up. It is masterfully crafted to be soothing and exciting at the same time. It's a perfect cross between Danny Wright and the Rippingtons.

After listening to both of his albums, I have come to the conclusion that John Adorney is the most talented composer to ever walk the face of the Earth. I can't decide whether the title track, Beckoning, or Dance of the Moon and Stars is my favorite song of all time.
Soft, beautiful, soulful, restful, peaceful, soothing, gorgeous.
Some music you can listen to and grow tired of. Not this music.
True story: It's hard to find John Adorney's CDs in stores, so I ordered over the phone and made a special trip to Alabama to buy Beckoning. Loved it so much that within a couple of weeks, I drove back the buy The Other Shore. It was worth it!
I'd give this CD 7 stars if they'd let me. I sure hope JA comes out with more music in the future!

I had just returned to my office from a meeting and I heard about the last minute or so of "Celebration". I immediately sent an e-mail to the local station playing the song wanting to know the artist. I received a reply in about 5 minutes, and 2 minutes later ordered the CD from Amazon.com.
I was unsure whether I would like the rest of the CD, but after receiving it and listening to the entire list, I must say this music makes you sit up and take notice...this is not music to just have on in the background, but to really listen to. Great melodies all, but my favorite is "Celebration".
By the way, I just ordered the other John Adorney CD "The Other Shore" and expect it to be as great.

I have all of John Adorney's albums and just found out recently that they are played literally all around the world. When you listen to this CD, you'll understand why. He is an accomplished musician who writes beautiful, intricate and melodic pieces that you listen to over and over again without getting tired of them. An absolute must for a New Age music fan.

I couldn't help but feel as I listened to Beckoning that i was being taken to a place inside myself and allowed to rest there. no hard edges, no grand statements, just a simple beckoning to enjoy. An emotional and timeless gift to the human heart.
