Very easy to use..

There are several great brands out there (Beco, Ergo, BabyHawk), so find one that fits you and your baby comfortable and use it often!

I love that it can be used for front/back carry.

My husband and I have been using our Beco since our 16 month old was born. Here's the breakdown between the Beco and Ergo

Beco Pros:
-Can accommodate a newborn without purchasing a separate insert. However, I found it awkward to carry a newborn in the Beco and opted for another carrier (Moby or a sling), anyway.
-With your child in the carrier, you can transfer him/her from one parent to another or from front to back carry.
-Head cover snaps off

Beco Cons:
-No pocket (Ergo has a zippered front pocket)
-More complicated. There are simply more straps to deal with on the Beco. But the more complicated design allows you to transfer the child while s/he's still in the carrier.
-No hip carry option

Another difference is that the beco has a higher back; might be better for taller children.

Okay this carrier is great! I judge a carrier by comfort and convenience after trying the Ergo, Boba, Bjorn, Ring sling, wraps and many more. though all of those are very comfortable except the Bjorn that kills my back, and all have some great features, the beco butterfly was very comfortable not only for me but, for my husband too and had the features that where important to us. We mainly use this carrier for shopping, hiking, and just some of our all day events we have to attend. I think all of you looking for a carrier should really go into the store and just try them all on even without baby. Because what works for me may not be what works for you

Let me tell you what made me go with the Beco Butterfly over all the carriers. Biggest thing for me is my child's safety and with that butterfly insert you are able to put baby in and easily shift him or her to your back without ANY chance of your baby falling. Also that inserts allows my husband or I to do a flawless hand off of baby and carrier at the same time. Thirdly, some of the people say that the safety buckles where just too much for them... well, I don't know what issues they had because my husband and I can easily do the unbuckling with one hand and really appreciate that safety feature. This carrier is very comfortable and transfers babies weight well through out your whole upper body allowing you to go long periods of time without pain. This carrier works VERY well with small infants so this will allow us to use it with baby # 2 once we decide it is time for that :). I am a huge fan of the removable hood. Also the adjustable straps fit all body types from my 5'6 thinner body to my 6'1 husky construction worker husband. Quality material it is thin, but durable, yet comfortable and soft, making it nice for you and baby.

I've tried several carriers. The Moby was perfect when my hungry milk monster was a newborn, but once he got over 15 lbs, I needed a carrier with more structure. The Ergo was perfect for mommy and daddy--very sturdy and structured, with a very practical pocket for wallet, phone, keys etc. But this is hands down the baby's favorite carrier, so it gets the most use. I think the softer (compared to the Ergo) cotton body is cozier for him. It's more huggy, like the Moby. This is the first carrier since the Moby that my son can easily fall asleep in. He even tolerates me carrying him around the house in it, which he never did with any other carrier. So I can sometimes hang a bit of laundry or do a little tidying up while baby watches or naps.

But Beco! Why can't you put a pocket on this thing? I hardly want to carry a purse or backpack when I've got over 20 lbs of baby on me. And isn't the point of any carrier to be hands-free? Beco, please add a pocket to the next version and it'll be worth five stars to us ...

I have tried so many baby carriers.....ergo, peanut shell, moby wrap, Maya ring sing, zolo ring sling etc and this one is by far the most comfortable for my baby and me. The key to the Beco is the panel that is between you and baby it prevents both of you from getting too hot. The Beco also has great hip, leg and head support for baby. It has great back suppport for you. This is by far the best backpack style carrier but if you are looking for a sling I think the zolo ring sling is the best.

We don't have money to throw around or waste on lame and useless baby gadgets. Having said that, the Beco Butterfly carrier is exactly what parents need. My husband is a full foot taller than me and BOTH of us found it comfortable and easy to carry our son in. The patterns available are so cute and artistic, something for everyone. We used it from when he was very little to not so little. I used to walk eight miles with my girlfriend and he would just sleep up against me. My son didn't care much for swaddling nor tight spaces and this didn't make him feel confined. It wears more like a sling but with the support of a carrier. I WISH there was a forward facing option and getting it on to your back by yourself takes major coordination, but I still love my Beco.

Can't say enough good stuff about this carrier! I had borrowed one with my first child and it was helpful, but my Beco has been essential with my second child. My baby is very snuggly and loves to be held, even at 10 months old. She is very comfortable and cosy in this carrier, and it is the correct position for her hips. I can wear my child comfortably for hours at a time if necessary and still have my hands free. I used it just around the house pretty often during my baby's first months. Love that it includes an infant insert and a detachable sunshade. It packs up small for travel. I love the streamlined look and feel of this carrier and the print is gorgeous. Even immediately post-partum it didn't make me feel huge to wear it, and now that I'm back to my normal size it's still flattering. My husband likes using it as well. It's easy to put it on with no help--videos on YouTube were a great help at first. When grocery shopping I put my baby in the Beco and her big sister in the grocery cart and away we go!

Mamas and daddies, TREAT YOUR FAMILY TO A QUALITY BABY CARRIER! There are several great brands out there (Beco, Ergo, BabyHawk), so find one that fits you and your baby comfortable and use it often!
