Pretty awesome,

This review is from: Become (Audio CD)
I saw these guys playing at Russian River Brew Co. in Santa Rosa, CA and they were so awesome that I had to get their CD. Their music extends beyond typical genres to create something new and invigorating. Also, the guys are totally nice. The guitar player even let me tinker around with his Gibson! Definitely a great buy and a great band to support.

Talent, variety, quality songwriting...record of the year!,
This review is from: Become (Audio CD)
This band is a find! Holiday and the Adventure Pop Collective from San Diego. The music they make on the record "Become" is completely uninhibited, good-time music with a seemingly endless supply of different colors and feelings. There is obvious talent flowing through this group and songs like "Texas"--whose violin line is about the best hook I've heard in years in any genre of music--and "Sail Away from Here" are simply fantastic. The whole album is full of spontaneous, creative energy while at the same time somehow maintaining a cohesive sound. It's got elements from all over the place in a smashing blend of mature, hand-crafted pop balanced on a bed of solid rock music. They stir in nice measures of alt-country (just right on the amount of twang) and a drop or two of good old-fashioned balladry but with a voice unlike any other on the market.
I don't know how they did it, but it really works! And "The Knot" is one of the most enjoyable tunes I've had the pleasure to listen to in quite some time. I keep listening and listening to this record thinking that I'll get tired of it, and I just don't! I hope these guys get exposure cause they deserve to be on the radio, in your car CD player and in a ton of music festivals across the country. Quality songwriting, quality delivery...easily my choice for the record of 2005 (even slightly edging out Beck's Güero)!!
