BECOME AN IRONMAN,
By
This review is from: Become an Ironman (Ironman Edition) (Paperback)
Wonderful insight from a gracious, older and experienced female Ironman athlete!
I found Cherie's book to be inspirational and full of useful advice... great information or just tidbits that reinforce what I already know about training for this tough event. For NEW or SEASONED triathletes, it is a nice reminder of how to go about IM training, especially when one gets a little off track! As a seasoned, female IM athlete myself, I am often looked to for coaching advice, and this book is one that I highly recommend! An easy read, and a book that you can pick up again and again, reading just a paragraph or two (like when you can barely keep your eyes open after a long hard day of training), and always be inspired to keep going when it gets tough! Thank you, Cherie!

Cherie is one of the most experienced and winning triathletes in the sport today, and holds several world records (www.cheriegruenfeld.com). She obviously knows what it takes, and she conveys that information eloquently in her new book. Her years of training, coaching, and racing world-wide have given her a wealth of experience and knowledge that is invaluable to anyone contemplating becoming an amature or professional triathlete, spectator or support crew member.

Not Quite,
By
This review is from: Become an Ironman (Ironman Edition) (Paperback)
This book just repeats all the introductions from many other books. There is no detailed information or unique ideas in this book. It is written as if for a beginner triathlete, but written about the toughest race on the planet. Save your money and go for the Training Bible or a more detailed guide. If you are ready to try an Ironman, or even an Olympic, you already know everything in this book. It may be good for a beginner, or just for the stories, but you won't get any pointers that will suprise you.

Not a good instructional book, but motivational,
This review is from: Become an Ironman (Ironman Edition) (Paperback)
This book was motivational and told some good short stories. But did not provide good details or instructions on how I could become a better triathlete. Most of the information was pretty basic and not very detailed.
