Have you ever struggled trying to read a how-to book, coming away with little or no extra knowledge than when you started?

Well, this book by Mike Orav is an outstanding variation on the normal How-To dart book. Fully illustrated, it teaches you darts through interested prose in real-life situations.

Master Lo, the dart guru, leads the below-average darter on an informative adventure to better darts. The language is very easy to understand and fun to read. The book covers every angle of the game, from learning the correct position to showing how your darts are made.

I would recommned this book the all ages and to anyone interested in the sport of darts.

I'm a beginner and found this book very useful. I would read a section, throw a few darts, and notice instant improvements. For example, I noticed the biggest improvements after I went from Vortex flights to standard flights after following the advice in the book. I then went to adjust my stance and throw. The book is very well organized. Some of the jokes are a little corny and the book could have been reduced to about 20 pages without all of the illustrations, but at the same time, the illustrations were helpful. It was also very fun to read. I'm not sure if this book would be good for someone more advanced, but it gave me the skills and general information to pursue the game of darts even further.

Like others, I was skeptical when I got the book and it was all illustrations. Then, after going through about half the book in no time, I realized its true value. It offered a lot of information without being wordy. If you just want good advice on the various facets of the game (and some pretty cool cartoons), without going into a bunch of dart history, this is your book. I found it very complete and enjoyable. I would recommend this book to anyone, beginner, novice or serious player. Good book, Mr. Orav. You get right to the point...no pun intended.

I have a copy of "Become your Darts" and was reading the review by a purchaser from the Boston area and was appalled at the negative response he gave for what I think is an excellent account on how the game should be played,sure it is in cartoon formatt and I was leery of that until I read a few pages and realize this is a brilliant way to show not only a beginner but the so called "expert" players(they most of all)could learn a great deal about themselves and the game.I played for numerous years both fun and competive throughout Canada and the U.S.A.and used Mr. Orav's darts after having them introduced to me by a top player in the U.S.A.I sure wish I had been able to sit down and absorb the amount of data that this book had to offer,it sure would have save a few years of learning the hard way,experiment after experiment.I met many nice people over the years playing the game but the mount of negative people sure out numbered them, it seems to be a common trait to be a dart player,I suggest anyone thinking of purchasing this book should do so,after reading it,I'm willing to wager a bet that you learn something from it,and as you continue to play and enjoy this wonderful game don't let that few direct their negative views towards your enjoyment.On page 185 is a very good tip "surround yourself with positive individuals".The cost is slight compared to how it will make you better all around player.Good Luck

Not a bad book...but you can get it for 12.99 from the VOKS darts website, (a lot less than the price here)

There is very, very little real information in this book. The vast majority of the pages contain full page cartoons illustrating 1 line of info that may or mey not be usefull. The author could have condensed the information into 10 ro 15 pages - but that would not justify the ... price tag. The "how to" aspect of the book is actually pretty helpfull, so if you're a complete beginner there may be some value. Other books, such as The American Darts Organization Book of Darts, offer just as much information and are filled out with history, game rules and other more usefull filler than the hundreds of cartoons in this book
