5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Buy for Aspiring Genealogists
I have long been interested in taking the Accredited Genealogist Exam, but have been frustrated with the lack of specific material showing me how to do that. This fills that narrow niche. It has inspired me to prepare more fully for that exam.

1.0 out of 5 stars Spend more wisely.
This book compiles information readily available for free.

This book is not for beginning genealogists. An advanced genealogist will already have attained the details this book provides. SAVE YOUR Money and spend it on "The Everything Family Tree Book" by William G. Hartley or some other suitable reference manual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful for Further Research, September 7, 2011

I read this book to find better research techniques that I can use for American ancestry beyond the basic sources. It revealed repositories, sources, books, and magazines I had not considered before. Although it is geared toward people who want to become accredited genealogists, I found it helpful in expanding my own knowledge of what is out there and techniques to use such as a personal research guide. After all, if you are a novice or intermediate genealogist, wouldn't you want to know how the professionals do it? It may just save you time and money in your own research methods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for..., January 11, 2007
This review is from: Becoming an Accredited Genealogist: Plus 100 Tips to Ensure Your Success, Revised Edition (Paperback)
I have only taken the time to browse through it, but from the topics covered, it gives me an idea on just how much I need to accomplish in order to become an accredited genealogist. For that is my goal. I would reccommend this book to anyone aiming to become an accredited genealogist. I will be taking the time in the next couple of days to go through in more detail.
