3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but way out of date, September 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Becoming an Airline Pilot (Paperback)
This book has some interesting information, but it is WAY outdated. A lot of the information isn't accurate any more. It paints an extremely rosy picture of the airline industry. Of couse, anybody who's interested in an aviation career now knows that the industry is in the toliet and it's a pretty tough career to get into. If you can get it used here for a buck like I did, go for it, it's somewhat useful, but I certainly wouldn' buy it new.

gives a little info on the career path, not much new info for someone in the business already. talks about job outlook: extremely outdated! Eastern Airlines? Good book for someone young but keep researching through other books. I don't regret buying it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not required, April 25, 2008
This review is from: Becoming an Airline Pilot (Paperback)
The airlines have nil requirements now so it is a mute point.

Anybody can get hired in less than two years with NO experience .

God help anybody riding on todays airlines unless you go up front to see who is flying.

Make sure he has been there at least ten years.
