Good thing I became aware and bought this..,

If you read another review I did on their other CD, it's easy to see that I REALLY like this band. This CD was the easiest 5/5 star ever. Once again, UT gives you a sampling of all they've got. You get Rock, Gothic-vibe sound, acoustic, PURE PIANO (whick, when done right, is hard to beat), and everything in between.
First of all, "Sonnet" is awesome. It's the Pure Piano song as I like to call it, b/c it's all piano and vocal. Then there's "Quiet" which almost sounds like a Godsmack song. Also, "My Valentines Last Breath" is a touching, haunting song. Like I mentioned, every song in my opinion, is dead on and there is not one on here that I was even tempted to fast forward.

Amazing and Thoughgt Provoking: The Uniqueness of UT,

For any band, the pressures of a first record is unexplainable. It is this first record that gives the world a taste of your music and sets all expectations up. If it fails, second chances rarely change the listeners mindset. Unfinished Thought however have seemingly tackled this problem with an incredible sense of gracefulness, and passionate beauty that can only be expressed with listening to the music.
If you've ever been interested in trying out new musical styles or you just enjoy the eerie, thought provoking sounds of haunting, real-life pain and sorrow, Unfinished Thought is a must for you. In fact, Unfinished Thought is a must for anyone's collection. Download tracks from the bands website (www.unfinishedthought.com) to preview the beautiful sounds of Voices, the heart-clenching Xoe and the ever so true, Disenchanted. After hearing these songs, you will find it impossible to pass up the opportunity of buying Becoming Aware, or even better, their second album, Based On Actual Events. Unfinished Thought is the type of artist who will make you stop and listen - and you will be glad you did.

If you don't own a copy of this CD already do yourself a favor and pick it now. You will not be sorry. There is not a bad song on this cd . The strong vocal and driven music are what people have been been searching for in vain for a long time now. This is the sound that has been missing. If you dont own a copy..shame on you.

Unfinished Thought Is a truly amazing band who's music is not quite like anyone i've heard before. The mixture of the different styles of music is something that i have not heard before. The music is absolutely breath taking. Stacey Nelson, the main vocalist, has such a beautifull voice, that the very first time i heard the album i was hooked.
Unfinished Thought has quickly become one of my favorite groups due to the fact that they have Made this album like nothing else i have ever heard. Every song has a different style, and they still made their entire album great. No need for program buttons with this CD as it was all amazing. In Finishing I would like to say that Unfinished Thought is a truly amazing band and if you would like to hear some more of their music a great place to find their music would be their website at www.unfinishedthrought.com . I am more then happy to give this band 5/5 stars because they have deffinately earned it.

Debut album shows its respectability,
By Ashley (Peoria, Arizona) - See all my reviews

As a debut album, this band surely exceeds that of the typical expectations. Dark lyrics and enchanting musical talent provide for a amazing album. This album is a great display of beautiful music, mixed with stunning vocals. Each track has its own unforgettable story. Though this band has been compared to others such as; Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and The Gathering, they surly do not fit the form, they exceeds it. Unfinished Thought is original and shows that music can still be beautiful.

Haunting...and very different.,

I stumbled across Unfinished Thought on a hunt for Evanescence songs...i am very glad i did.Becoming Aware is a mix of tracks with lyrics ranging from bitter love with a twist, to the mind of the insane..or so it seems. The vocalist, Stacey Nelson, brings each song to life, her beautiful voice binding you from the beginning of each song to the end..and Joe Kiser is a master with the music, creating melodies that work perfectly with the lyrics. This is an album which i think is like nothing else out there..very different, and very beautiful. If you like atmospheric music, very deep lyrics and some definately rocking tunes; then you should definately check this band out. I can only imagine what this record would be like played live.

All Around Great CD,

I first heard of this duo through BeSonic.com, and was absolutely hooked. Stacey's vocals are so melodious and haunting, these songs get stuck in your head so easily. The mix of all the instruments makes this a beautifully orchestrated CD. My favorite songs are "Xoe", "Disenchanted", "Voices", and of course, the beautiful closing track, "My Valentine's Last Breath". The lyrics of all these songs are so brilliant and inspiring. I really recommend this CD to anyone.

A hauntingly beautiful collection of songs.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Becoming Aware (Audio CD)
Beautiful vocals, enchanting melodies and harmonies. Lyrically engaging. Musically hypnotic and addictive. Wide-ranging sonic landscapes filled with guitars and electronic accents. Listening to some of these songs is like slipping into a darkly enchanting hallucination. Best songs: "Xoe," "Disenchanted," and "One More Forever" are my enduring favorite tracks; lyrically impressive and emotionally intense, with compelling rythyms. Also of note are the eerily mesmerizing "Reflection" and the hauntingly beautiful closing track, "My Valentine's Last Breath." Songs to skip: "Quiet" is an acquired taste- the ethereal main vocals are lovely... but Stacy's voice is the only instrument to appear on the song. Kind of stark. "Sonnet" struck me as perhaps too sentimental, and not as musically interesting as the rest of the album. "Mokienko" is the only track I found annoying, but other fans really like it, so who's to say? As for me, I find that song unlistenable. I would highly recommend downloading the free mp3s from www.unfinishedthought.com. The band's website has more downloads (including a gorgeous piano version of "Lack of Days"), lyrics to all the songs, previews of their next album, and a welcoming message board. Check out this band-- you'll be extremely glad you did. - Brandi
