This review is from: Becoming a Fly Fisher: From Brookie Days to the Tenth Level (Hardcover)
Becoming a Fly Fisher is a beautifully written book. John Randolph has a talent for painting a picture in the mind of the reader where you share the love he has for his family, friends and fly fishing. The book is filled with wonderful stories of hunting fish on a fly from all over the world. Randolph takes us to to great places to fish that we can endeavor to reach in our time. Of killer flies and matching the hatch. Of teachers and mentors that have come before him and that have made countless contributions to the sport. This book is not a fly fishing manual. It uses fly fishing to help us see our place in nature, and what a wonderful opportunity we have in being part of it. We get a great chance to look into the heart of someone truly at the tenth level and each of us will take something different away from this book. Enjoy it. |
