Book Description

November 1, 2005
Teams are difficult to create. They are tough to motivate and even more challenging to lead. They can inspire greatness but also can be filled with pettiness. They can come together quickly but can splinter apart even faster. "It's time for someone to write about the truth of team building," says author Stephen A. Macchia. In Becoming a Healthy Team, Macchia discusses the characteristics that produce intimacy, authenticity, and effectiveness in a team and lead to the team's vitality. TEAMS spells out Trust, Empowerment, Assimilation, Management, and Service-the five traits of a healthy team. With biblical guidance throughout and questions for reflection at the end of each chapter, Macchia has created a valuable team-building resource perfect for pastors, ministry leaders, and anyone involved in a leadership role.

From the Back Cover

Becoming a healthy is essential for building the kingdom. Steve Macchia has helped thousands of churches develop healthy ministries. Now he offers tried and tested principles and practices to help your leadership team do the same. He'll show you how to Trust, Empower, Assimilate, Manage, and Serve. That spells TEAMS and ultimately success. Without effective teams, ministries lose the ability to both serve the body of Christ and reach seekers. Filled with scriptural guideposts, Becoming a Healthy Team provides practical answers and pointed questions to keep your team on track and moving ahead. "Small teams, big teams-all face big challenges. No one addresses those challenges more biblically, clearly, realistically, or helpfully than Stephen Macchia. If you're part of any ministry team, don't skip this book."-Larry Crabb, founder, New Way Ministries "Of the many ways of being 'great,' team 'greatness' is one of the least explored and understood.
