More About the Author

Fountain Hendricks was born in Chicago, IL. He was raised in a Christian household. He was a young man driven by worldly morality which prevented him from living underneath the power of the Holy Ghost. Through experience and many failures he has gained understanding and knowledge on how to exhibit Godly character. Going to church became a ritual for him but God never became the center focus of his life until he had a "Damascus" moment in his mid-twenties. The Lord spoke to Fountain in a loud voice through his transition of condition. After being isolated from love ones, betrayed by those whom he was familiar with and being separated from everything that was common he discovered that God allowed this to happen for a reason.

The Lord was calling Fountain out of deception and darkness to live in the truth and light of Holiness. Fountain realized that he was serving God under the influence of religion, tradition and commonality which empowered him to inherit misfortune but the Lord gave him clarity, understanding and great wisdom. This experience allowed him to see that "Becoming holy" is the difference between practicing Christian ethics and Christian character. Becoming holy has allowed him to live a joyful, purposeful, exciting and influential life. The Lord has placed him in a position to teach and nurture others on how to live a holy life, modeling Jesus internally and externally.

This is truly a much-needed user's manual for any Christian or anyone wishing to become a Christian. The author indicates that this book was inspired by the Holy Spirit. That becomes so evident in the earliest pages of Becoming Holy. This is an easy read and is very much like a manual that is precise in directing the reader. It contains sound advice. It does not scream or intimidate the reader. Its words are supported appropriately by biblical passages but in a very pleasant and easy to understand way. For those who read their bible every day, this book belongs next to it as it is truly inspirational. It will make the reader appreciate the bible, understand it and most important live it.

What does it mean to become Holy? I've sought the answer to this a question for a long time, and have also wondered how can I be holy? I'm not perfect, I don't go to church every week, I judge people and I pray only when I need God's help. After reading "Becoming Holy" by Fountain Hendricks it's now clear to me that being holy is something we all have to work at every day. Although I'm imperfect, Fountain has made me realize that being holy is not perfect living, and that living in perfection requires a force greater than me, and I should be asking God every day for guidance to live up to his standards.

Becoming Holy is a thoughtful and honest guide to our daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. He is holy. Without change. And he calls us to be holy, too. I encourage readers to go through this excellent work slowly, thoughtfully, prayerfully, and rely on the Holy Spirit to do His awesome work in you as you read and put into practice the wisdom so well conveyed in this lovely book.

In his new book, Becoming Holy, Fountain Hendricks discusses the process of the transformation of the inner man into becoming holy, as Christ was holy. But what is holiness? In 1st Peter 1:15-17 the Scripture says, "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." Many Christians do not know what holiness is, how to walk in holiness and why holiness is the foundation of the Christian faith. Often a neglected foundation of the Christian faith, holiness, is a command of the Lord. Bringing enlightenment and encouragement to readers, the author sheds light to understanding the process of becoming holy and the importance of walking in holiness. Holiness is one not easily obtained, but is a necessary component as a Disciple of Christ. This fascinating book is not only inspired by the Holy Spirit, but was designed specifically by the author to teach, inform, exhort and call Christians to walking in the light and the truth of the Word which leads to maturity and the development of godly character.

Breaching the gap between professing to be a Christian and becoming holy, the book offers an uplifting overview of becoming holy, naming the attributes and identifying some of the hindrances to holiness. As noted by the author, holiness is also often neglected from the pulpit in our modern-day society where the preaching of self-fulfillment has become a popular and misguided doctrine.
