Book Description

May 30, 1998
Humanity is the ebola virus of the universe, quarantined way out here at the end of the galaxy. It has the most horrible disease ever known - violence. Every ten thousand years or so, humanity breaks out and the other civilized races must band together and stomp humankind back to the stoneage. To counteract the violence of humanity they must adopt violence themselves and in doing so - become human. Relentless action. Constant pressure to read on. Surprising explosions of fresh new ideas about humanity, history, psychology, war, weapons and even music. Like nothing you've ever read before.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Relentless action and dangerous new ideas, combined in a truly explosive mix -For God's sakes - don't shake this book !

About the Author

Neil Thompsett was born in Hong Kong. He came to the US at age 10. At 11 and 12 he won back-to-back Science Fairs at the prestigious El Rodeo School in Beverly Hills. At 13 he wrote this book. An amazing feat for anyone, it was all the more remarkable for Neil since he is so young and also since he suffers from a serious learning disability - he is a Gifted Visual Spatial Learner. He sees things in entirely different ways and it comes out in his writing. It's as if you're reading some hip edgy, alien who is seeing humanity for the first time - and is not impressed

5.0 out of 5 stars An spellbinding page turner that you won't put down., June 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Becoming Human (Mass Market Paperback)
A intresting insight into the callousness of the human soul and our blood thirstiness for power. It shows our kindness and love can come from another part of the galaxy and that human nature is corruptive and blind. Well written from beginning to end, you are likely to stay up into the small hours of the night reading every page.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting..., July 6, 2000
This review is from: Becoming Human (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed the idea that we are the bad guys. I think that writing a whole 300 something page novel is a pretty fantastic feat in itself. Also the thought provoking philosophical aspects really were great.
