More About the Author

Gardenia Destang, Amazon Kindle Best Selling Author.

Gardenia is the author of the Amazon Kindle bestseller, Becoming Me. She is known for screen plays and the first local television mini-series "Heartstrings" an eight, 30 minute episode romantic drama on the issues of HIV and great love, for which she was the writer, producer, and director. She also wrote, directed, and co-produced the well known play "Do you Know Damien" a two-2 hour 15 minute full production.

Gardenia's love for writing was given full expression when, on a whim, she decided to write her first book and not a script, as it seemed much less stressful to see the end result. With plays and scripts, she would have had to worry about getting a cast, locations, sets and all that comes with such productions. Being a perfectionist for the most part, Gardenia decided that she did not want to go through that again, fully understanding this from past experience.

So, she decided on a book where she could get carried away in her head with the story and the characters - where she could become the characters: hurt when they hurt, laugh when they did, and get raging mad when they did also.

The end result? A Kindle Best Seller Becoming Me...and more to come.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book! The author did an excellent job of providing enough humor and suspense to keep the attention of the reader. I finished reading this book in approximately 2 days. I give the author an A++++ for being able to describe various emotions without the use of obscene language. I think that withing recent times many authors seem to get carried away with using obscence language in their writing and the English vocabulary has so many more adjectives that can be used. This was a welcomed change in style! The characters depicted were all very practical and easy for the average person to identify with. Great work Gardenia!

I don't understand all the high ratings on this book. I am at 44% on the kindle and have just decided to give up on it, mainly because I don't care about what happens, and I am starting to really dislike the main character. I find it unrealistic how they speak to each other - so formally, and yet she tries at times to be all hip and with it with 'my girls' (friends). The overwhelming message throughout the book is the good Christian family she comes from, and yet here she is cheating on her partner with little apparent remorse - hence the reason I am disliking her more and more. This book is just too wordy, unnecessarily so - repeating things and describing in too much detail eg: at one point describing what every person she knows was wearing at the time. Just bored and over it.

I usually only read self-development books, so everything for me always has to be self-reflective. This novel conjured up so many emotions within. It has been entertaining as well as enlightening. Upon reading many of the chapters I found myself filled with tears and laughter as I search my inner woman. The story is well scripted and the writer puts you in the center of it all so that you can experience each character. I think what makes this novel a winner is its realness and any and everyone can relate to a or a part of a character.
The storyline and the language is so captivating that I found myself unable to put the book down for long periods. The descriptions are so vivid you feel like you are the character being portrayed. I must admit that I sometimes find myself speed reading certain books that has parts that I find are unnecessary but with this book becoming me, there were no paragraphs not lines that I could speed read as I was so intrigued to get all the fascinating details.
Lessons for self-development book readers like myself that I found throughout the book:
-Follow your God given instincts
-Good friendships matters - take time out for building
-Be yourself
-We are all unique in some way
-When in doubt just ask
-Life's too short to hold on to angry moments
-And my favorite, don't try to be, just be
This is truly one of the best books I have read in my entire life and I have ready many. It has caused me to do much introspection, expectoration and retrospection and yes I am on my way to becoming me.

This is an amazing book. It has romance, intrigue, drama you name it. It's all in there. Enough to keep you flipping the pages. I'm not an avid reader but I just couldn't put it down. Lost sleep over this book because I just had to finish it and when I did I still couldn't sleep. The book was 'All That'! Looking forward to more novels from this author. It maybe her first but I'd say Becoming Me is a Masterpiece.

Ok, How do I rite a review without giving away the juicy details???? The instant I began reading the book, I was immediately hooked and could identify with Ms. Terri Williams in feeling a void in my life that is not yet complete and the need to, as she puts it, become me. The characters used in the book were rite on point. It's a fictional novel but yet the entire time reading I'm thinking to myself "Is this loosely based on my life?". Its beautifully written making me want to laugh, cry and have a few "Oh No U Didn't!!!" moments. When I noticed myself towards the end of the book I started reading less and less because I didn't want the story to be over. I've learned from this book that you can't always plan your life with a check off list and assume everything will work out accordingly. You hit road bumps and detours throughout life and must never forget that nothing happens according to your plan but according to His plan. Gardenia's Becoming Me has been added to my list of favorite novels and I can't wait for her next novel. Hope I will not have to wait long :)

Absolutely amazing job. Drew me in from the first chapter, made me laugh and wet the eye lids. I'm ready for the sequel.
