Product Description

Use on any vertical surface including any size or shape bed leg, bed heads and headboards, walls & skirting boards, electrical outlets, air vents, furniture legs & bases and more! Ideal when you want to discreetly keep bed bugs from climbing up bed legs or when you want to prevent bed bugs from spreading between rooms/units through the outlets and vents. Barrier Tape alone will not trap or kill bed bugs. It can prevent bed bugs from entering a unit through protected openings. If bed bugs exist in a room already, the tape will inhibit bed bugs from crawling up legs or other surfaces but other measures, including encasements, monitors, traps and professional extermination, will be necessary to eliminate bed bugs from a room. This tape is not a sticky tape for catching bed bugs. Rather, it is a slippery tape that prevents bed bugs from crossing to keep them from spreading further.

Bedbugs can climb onto furniture to get a meal from you, so a barrier is needed to keep the little buggers off. There are some products out there that you can use to place beds or other furniture legs inside, with slippery coatings.

However, they are not useful for large furniture legs as on a couch or chair, or a glider/recliner with long vertical legs that are stationary. This product is what you need in these situations. Just apply the tape along all the sides of the legs and it will create a slippery Teflon surface to prevent climbing. While I have no evidence that regular tape may also do the trick, I didn't want to take any chances for a reinfestation.

One thing to keep in mind is that the adhesion of this tape is strong, and at the same time, when you try to get it loose from the spool it takes some effort to get it started again. In addition, whenever you cut a piece from it, it will quickly stick back on the spool and be difficult to find and get going. Therefore, try to bend the tape or keep your finger underneath the remaining tape on the spool to keep it from resticking. This makes using it a bit awkward, but I still give it 5 stars because it solves the problem of keeping bedbugs off thick or wide furniture legs.

Folks, I wouldn't waste your money, this roll of tape is laughable. I can't believe I bought this, when it plainly describes the size, yet it just didn't register. This teensy roll cost $20. The picture here on amazon looks the size of say,..a roll of scotch shipping/packing tape, but its not. For comparison sake,..your basic plain roll of scotch shipping tape is 48mm (wide) x 50 m.(long).
what your getting here is a small roll with a piece of tape measuring a whopping 25 mm x 10 m.
I have sitting here on my desk, which my husband bought for our trip, a 4-PACK of Scotch shipping/packing tape from Walmart which cost only $9.97.
FOUR rolls which equals a total of 200 m. of tape~~ which is also wider! $9.97.
verses 10 m. of thin 'tape', for $20.
Can't believe I didn't READ description more thoroughly. thats what I get for being an impulsive shopper.
The good news is, I immediately applied for a refund & should have it soon. I didn't even open the plastic it was in, as I could clearly see it wasn't what I was expecting..

I used this when I moved to a new apartment. No problems to report. I put a layer around the bottom of the bed posts and my dresser.

Worked like a charm. We had the bugs come in from another unit in our building and couldn't keep them off us at night. I put this tape around the legs of the beds and like magic they couldn't get to us anymore.

Packing tape DOES NOT work the same way. Bugs can still crawl over it. Somehow the surface of this tape keeps them from crossing and keeps us from being their next meal.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Very expensive given the small amount of tape they actually ship to you. The photo is a bit misleading. But even worse than that, I haven't found that it's made any difference whatsoever. I've gone back to using diatomaceous earth to kill/deter bedbugs.

If you enjoy paying $20 for a role of tape not much bigger than scotch tape, then this is for you. A complete waste of money.
