Victoria A. Brownworth has written extensively about Voltaire, Diderot and the Enlightenment. She is the author and editor of more than 20 books, and teaches writing and film at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She is also the author of Day of the Dead and Other Tales (Harrington Park Press).

Victoria A. Brownworth is a Pulitizer Prize-nominated journalist and author of "Day of the Dead," "Too Queer," "Film Fatales" and "Rock Hudson: A Biography" and editor of the award-winning "Coming Out of Cancer," "Night Bites" and "Lost in America." Her essays, stories and columns have appeared in the New York Times, Baltimore Sun, Philadelphia Inquirer, Los Angeles Times, Village Voice, the Advocate and OUT magazine, as well as over 50 anthologies. She's reviewed for Publisher's Weekly, Booklist and a plethora of other newspapers, magazines and journals. She mentors young inner-city writers, has written several award-winning independent short films, including "Mondays" and "but would you take her back?" and teaches writing and film at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. With the contributors below there is something for everyone.
I bought this book because I saw that two of my favorite author's, Karin Kallmaker and Therese Szymanski, had new short stories included. I was delighted to see that the book included an extended list of fabulous writers. A special treat was to read a short story by Tee Corinne that I had not read before. A bonus are the poetry selections, and at 240 pages this is a book that will last a long time in the reading. Writers - Karin Kallmaker Therese A. Nieves Sharon Wachsler The only things missing for me are author bios that would lead a reader to more titles by the contributors, and I would have greatly enjoyed a lengthy introduction by the esteemed editor Victoria Brownworth. This is a keeper.
