This bedrest is surprisingly heavy and takes two hands to maneuver from behind oneself, but it is very well made and seems unlikely to fall apart as the previous bedrest I had did. The seams are double-stitched and the fabric is sturdy. As another reviewer said, it is not a squishy pillow. It gives lots of back support, preventing one from slouching down, but may be less comfortable than a softer one would be. I find it necessary to put a smaller pillow behind my head if I want to lean back. However, I am very pleased with its substantial quality and may buy one for my husband too. The color is a khaki tan--not cream as in the picture. It is a neutral color which should not soil easily.

I had a bad fall skiing which ended up in surgery with a dislocated bicep tendon and a torn shoulder tendon. It was bad. After surgery, I had a lithocaine-drip tube on my stomach inserted into my arm, an electric cold pack system to keep my shoulder chilled and a sling. I was immobile. In order to sit upright for several weeks, I looked at expensive pillows that massaged you, had folders for books and magazines, lights that hung over your head for reading and all such expensive nonsense. I just needed to sleep.

Voila! Here's an inexpensive back support system that allowed me to sleep very comfortably sitting up and had just enough of an arm rest to keep my sling steady. You don't need more and hopefully you'll never need it again. It's a quality made hypoallergenic bed rest pillow. It suited me perfectly!

I have really enjoyed this product, especially compared to reading in bed with only a pillow. This pillow is very firm and provides lots of support. I don't mind the color being a little darker than the photo. My 8-year old was so fascinated with it himself, that we had to order a child's version for him. Now we all enjoy reading ourselves to sleep!

The fabric is very nice, and this product is really heavy. Lots of support here and it only grows more comfortable after you've used it a few times. But major points off for not having a cover that can be removed and washed. So if you have a cold at some point, or you're allergic to dust or your pooch, there's not a whole lot you can do except keep it covered. I have a steam cleaner; maybe I can use that since it's meant to be used on upholstery. Maybe this inconvenience accounts for the low price. Still, I'd rather pay more and get something I plan on keeping a while.

It's a bit darker than the ivory color depicted in the picture, but that worked out even better! I love everything about this pillow. I will admit it's stiff and a little on the hard side, but when I'm sitting up in bed it holds it shape while still giving me the support I need. I think over time, it will soften up, but if it doesn't it's still great in my opinion.

This bed pillow is not only functional, it is also practical. Very sturdy but still soft enough and comfortable, you will not have the annoyance of slipping down in bed while attempting to read. This pillow has smart styling and looks like it will be useful for years to come.

This is not a creamy white pillow at all ! It is a striped tan pillow. I'm glad I read the previous reviews .. it perfectly matches my tan/green/etc. comforter. It would be nice if it was a bit larger with longer 'arms', but I am very pleased with it overall. I have been bedridden for about a month and it is nice to be able to sit up in bed to read (or get on my laptop) with having to adjust 5 pillows behind my back.

I ordered this product after having shoulder surgery and being unable to lie down comfortably. I was actually very impressed with the quality of this pillow. It's sturdy and holds its shape nicely. I would definitely recommend this product.

My husband has been wanting one of these bed rest pillows because he goes to bed and reads. He was uncomfortable until I ordered the bed rest pllows. He now enjoys his books in comfort before he falls asleep. I ordered two so I could use one to read also. The product was very reasonably priced and the quality is very good. I recommend it also for students.

I have lower back problems, and I never found any comfort with just putting pillows behind me whenever I want to sit up on my bed. With this, I don't feel any pain at all because it lets me sit up straight. It's heavy for a reason. It's made to be a substitute if you don't have a chair in your room. It's great for dorm rooms too.
