5.0 out of 5 stars Original Liner Notes, December 17, 2008
This review is from: Bed Time Story (MP3 Download)
BED TIME STORY, produced by BRUCE OLSON and WAXING POETICS, was recorded in May and June of 1990 at the FLOOD ZONE in Richmond, Virginia. During these sessions, DAVID MIDDLETON sang, strummed electric and acoustic guitars, and attempted to play piano. PAUL TIERS sang backup, played electric, acoustic, slide and fan guitars, electric sitar, and briefly, strum stick. JEFF BAILEY played electric and acoustic bass, and contributed his talents on backing vocals, piano, organ, gourd and recorder. BIL SHEARIN talked, shouted, played drums, percussion, axes, hatchets, machetes, and other implements of destruction.

Many special guests also contributed their talents: BRYAN HARVEY AND JOHNNY HOTT (aka HOUSE OF FREAKS) sang, talked and played on entire kitchen's worth of utensils, plus various auto parts on 'JET BLACK PLASTIC PISTOL.' JOHN SMITH of CONTOOCOOK LINE song backup on 'ROLL THAT STONE (OVER ME),' while the enigmatic BRUCE RODE played the strum stick. MR. RODE also provided backup vocals on 'FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER.' Other guests include KIM BERDICK of FEMALE TROUBLE, who played jazz guitar in the middle of 'SHAKE'; and ANNABELLE BARBE, who portrays the notorious culprit in 'KILLED BY BABY'. BED TIME STORY was mastered by MICHAEL SARSFIELD at Frankford/Wayne.
