Casual Watch Fun!, January 5, 2010
This review is from: Bedat Women's BDTCB03.SSB.SIL B3 Concept Number Three Silver Dial Watch (Watch)
I had reviewed this watch on Amazon back in 2007. At the time, the only Concept watch Amazon had available for review was the model with the black face, however, I own this exact model, so I wanted to post a revised review here.
For the past few years, I have continued to find this watch to be very solid, so ladies preferring substantial pieces will enjoy this. Second, the face is what I would consider to be mid sized at 26mm and its numbers are easy to read from a distance. In fact, there have been countless instances when I have had to dash off to the train and still could read the time off my watch just at a quick glance. Third, the band is beautiful and almost looks as if it can stand alone as a bracelet. Fourth, the clasp is invisible. Fifth, its sapphire crystal has held up as I have dropped my watch several times during the past few years. Sixth, its style is unique and have not seen anything like it on people I have seen in public. Seventh, the screw back case makes changing the battery a breeze. In terms of battery life, I have had to change that out once in the life of the watch over the course of 2.5 years.
It is worth mentioning that since this is a mid-size watch, it may take some getting used to for those who have traditionally worn petite watches. In fact, I have found that ladies who prefer smaller watches seem to think it too big for my wrist, while others seem to love it. It may be worth noting my wrist size is just under 6 inches, so it does give my wrist ample coverage. This is not what I would consider a "low profile" watch either, so those concerned by this may want to consider watch like an Ebel (I would not describe this watch as being "clunky"). This watch has a reflective stainless steel edge around the face, which easily attracts smudges, which does not bother me, as I can easily wipe them away. However, this may may be a drawback to more meticulous people. Not only does it attract smudges, but I have noticed light scratching as well over the years, which I am sure could be polished out (I might have that done the next time my watch needs a battery).
I did not give this watch a 4-star rating because it does not have a date function. This may not seem fair, as not everyone feels this is important, and even after 2.5 years of owning it, I still wish it had a date feature! However, the "second" hand is displayed above the #6, which adds to its sporty elegance of this fine watch.
Before deciding on this watch, I considered brands including Tag Aquaracer 2000, Longines Dolce Vita, Movado Vizio and Raymond Weil's Parsifal W1. Overall, this has been a nice watch for me that has matched my clothes and jewelry (I wear white gold and platinum) and I have not yet grown tired of it, even after 2.5 years of use! :)
