I thought the book was a great visual reference. It has numerous species I had never seen.

I would have liked to have seen more details and tidbits of info about the fish and their life style. But I imagine that would make the book far bigger than it already is. But it does well to fill the gaps of species not found in my growing library of fish books. It is well worth the high price.

The sad thing is this book is near impossible to find, and out of print. Luckily I was given this book as a gift, as it was one of only two used copies off of Amazon. I had called the publisher they indicated that the author was not interested in future printings even thought they had offered to purchase the print rights. I think that is rather sad, as this a book that is worth of any one interested in fish, especially those in to the uncommon species.
