A very unique book., February 9, 2004

This review is from: The Bedford Murder: An Evidence-Based Clinical Mystery, 1e (Paperback)
This is one of the most unique books in the medical text market I have ever read. This book is more than a QUICK primer on evidence based medicine, it is also a fun novel about a murder and you are the sleuth who has to figure out "who-dun-it". The only problem with the book, and it is really very minor, is that the CME credit that you can get by completing the paperwork at the end are for canadian MD's only. It would be nice to be able to receive US CME creedit. This should not turn anyone away from the book however. It is well written and easy to understand with an appendix and glossary explaining the statistics and math used in evidence based medicine along with the terminology too. So if you want a fun book that will introduce you to application of evidence based medicine to your practice then this book is for you. Think of it as a bitter pill that is very nicely sugar coated that all practicing physicians should swallow. I would also highly recommed this book to any first or second year medical statistics course instructors and students.
