My First Sandra Marton Book - Loved Every Minute,
By
This review is from: The Bedroom Business (Kindle Edition)
Jake McBride is a self-made millionaire and womanizer extraordinaire. Emily Taylor is his efficient, smart, mousy, oh-so-uptight personal assistant. They have the perfect working relationship. Jake depends on Emily for everything, and Emily pretends to respect him. But then the unthinkable happens. Emily decides to branch out into the world of dating (as only the efficient, practical, and pragmatic would ever dream of doing) and somehow, Jake notices Emily is actually a woman. Not only does he notice, but it appears that every guy around has taken notice as well and Jake decides that he has to save Emily from herself and all the horny men of New York, who are all too willing to take advantage of his naive assistant. When Ms Marton gets it right, there is no Harlequin author better. How she is able to make these two characters (with their personalities) believable and engaging is beyond me. That she also manages to make them relatable and likable is a feat worthy of praise. I loved Jake, I loved Emily, and I loved all their little quirks and idiosyncrasies. I loved even more that I was able to laugh, get turned on, and get choked up all in 184 pages. By the last page I couldn't help but hold a hand to my chest and go 'Awww'. It's everything these short, quick reads are supposed to be. Thoroughly entertaining.

A funny, sexy, read...,

Jake McBride, entrepreneur, decides to help Emily, his executive assistant, become a woman men will want. As Jake helps make Emily over, he becomes enchanted by the "real" Emily. And, Jake is not into commitments. Or at least, Jake tries to tell himself, he's not. As for Emily, she'll take just one night with Jake... I know I've/you've seen this plot before; but, this book is so much fun. Jake, Emily, both have these little conversations with their own selves, which are so entertaining. Add in the romance, and this book's become a keeper, for me.

I decided to read this book based on all the reviews and was so glad I did. I think everything that could possibly be said about how wonderful this book is has already been said, and I would urge anyone who was ever a fan of romance books, or loves watching a romantic comedy movie to read this book. The characters were so real, and there are parts that I guarantee will make you laugh out loud, and a part that just maybe will make you remember the time you discovered that one person's kiss can turn you inside out, while another's leaves you totally unaffected.

I like this book. I enjoyed it! Like a previous reviewer, I finished it in one night ( that's rare for me, as I usually take my time). I'm getting even more endeared toward Sandra Marton's books. Perhaps it's too early to say that as I've only read 2 of her books. I found the hero's jealousy very hot, actually, it made me smile severally. He didn't want anyone near her at all, because he had just made a discovery about his executive assistant- she was irresistible!
Update March 18, 2011: I loooove this book. I have read about 7-10 harlequin books since I read this and this remarkable book still comes to mind, especially the hilarious way Luke discovered his attraction toward his EA! I am changing this from 4 stars to 5.

Jake is a rich and successful business man. Emily is his Executive Assistant. Jake sees Emily is a very hard working, efficient and a loyal employee, average looking (which is good, no office romances allowed). He doesn't seem to notice but everyone around him notices how Emily is very attractive in her own way. Emily is trying to meet people to date and suddenly Jake feels the need to be protective and "responsible" for her. He offers to introduce her to people he knows and to teach her everything she needs to find someone appropriate to date. The more time he spends with her, the more he realizes how much he wants to keep her just for him.
The banter was so fun in this book. Some situations were so funny. It was a well written book. It was a very fun and entertaining read. Read it in a day as I couldn't seem to be able to put the book down. Very cute and sweet!

This is one of Sandra Marton's better books. Her books tend to be hits or misses and this one was a hit! Boss falls in love with assistant theme has always been one of my favorites. My only question was why the hero who has been the heroine's boss for a year or so took such a long time in noticing her. His acquaintances notice her right off, but the hero seems a bit slow in recognizing what was right beneath his nose. I recommend this book!

Jake, an entrepreneur, decides to teach his EA, Emily, how to attract men. As Emily is taught to seduce, Jake becomes the seduced. Yes, I know, you've/I've read this storyline before. But, the witty conversations Emily, Jake, have with their own selves, is worth the price of this book, alone. Add to these funny conversations, the two appealing leads, the sexy love scenes, and the story, itself...for me, it's a keeper.

This was such a great book to read...I couldn't put it down. The characters never bored me for a second; one can't help but fall in love with the hero and heroine of this story. Sandra Marton was a hit with this one!

Very surprised with this one! Like others said, was very hard to put down and disappointed when i did because i could have kept on reading for a while still. Lots of books in this category are easily forgettable, this one i will always remember.
So, definitely a Sandra Marton, going to read The Alvares Bride next! Hope its equally fun!!
