I too was surprised by the negative reviews. I guess erotic writing is a matter of taste. Personally, I was totally turned on by the book. The combination of steamy sex, humor and warmth that the author provides is very difficult to find in most erotic writing and, for me, it is tremendously exciting. If you are interested in cold, mechanical erotica describing 136 different positions, this book is not for you.

but that is just my opinion. I was hoping to find a collection of romantic, tasteful erotic stories...and there is an element of those things in these stories...but the author frequently uses words that you would expect to see in some trashy porno rag. Granted that is probably a turn-on for a lot of people, but for me I prefer sensitive, tasteful references to genitalia, especially imagery, which the author includes at times (in one story referring to the woman's genitalia as a "tender bud"). I read these stories alone, and I couldn't imagine reading them with a partner or having a partner read them to me. I would be so turned off.

If you're not ready to take a major leap into erotica, Bedtime Stories for Lovers is a great start point. Lloyd's stories are fun for erotica newbies and are pretty hot. I've reread them over and over and they never fail to turn me on. Like I said, "Yum!"

I read the reviews and I'm surprised. I loved it, especially when my husbnad and I read together. Spicy and fun.

Save your money, read a Harlequin novel, more substance, more story. I returned the book.

I thought this was going to be a hot, spicy book. Instead, it was corny and dopey. One story features a hot wench named Myra. Myra? Come on! Ms. Lloyd should have gotten in the mood to write this book by reading something other than Family Circle. I couldn't help but laugh when my husband read stories to me. I'm writing my own sexy stories from now on!

I was VERY disappointed! I felt as if I was reading a child's book, dont waste your money.

I bought this book thinking it would be a great way for my husband and I to re-explore our sexual relationship but I was very disapointed. Ms. Lloyd's idea was good but she should have taken the time to write stories to excite and tease. Her stories read more like afternoon quickies then something I want to share with some one I love dearly.

I felt a bit deceived as soon as I saw the size of the book. Yes, it has 100+ pages, but the format is small, and the print large. The stories are very short and predictable. A perhaps interesting setting which invariably leads to a sex scene. Yes, they are often arousing, and indeniably well written, but I miss that extra bit which would make them excellent. I tried to select one story, that would be good enough to show my partner, but failed.

When I purchased this book I was looking for one with sexy stories my fiance and I could read together and enjoy. This was not the case with this book we got more out of a romance by Harliquin then we did from this book of stories for lovers.. In my opinion, if this is supposed to stimulate lovers and improve their relationship together, it is a bissmal failure and i read many books so I know a good book when I see one. This one was not one of them a total waste of your money...
