This backgammon board is constructed from solid beech wood, beech wood veneers, blue accents, and has chip racks on both ends for chips not in play. The inlaid
points are blue and burgundy stained veneer and they contrast beautifully against the natural beech wood. Includes wood chips, wood dice cups, dice, and doubling cubes. A tremendous value for a beautiful wood backgammon board!

Product shipped very quickly. Looks great, just like the picture. Good size. Wooden pieces are very light, have a very cheap feel. Biggest surprise -- this item doesn't close! I guess that's what "table top" means, I suppose I should have known that (I thought it would fold like most other sets). So look at the picture, and realize that's exactly what you get -- an always-open backgammon game. Reasonable for the given price, but more serious backgammon players probably need to spend more for a closable set with more solid pieces.

There's no denying the attractiveness of this board. It's very nice-looking. However, it's not worth $40 by any stretch of the imagination. The wood is so light and soft that it shows wear after only a few games. The stones are nothing like those advertised in the image, but are rather flat disks of equally light wood which bounce all over the board during play. I suppose it does the trick, but for the price one would expect something sturdier.
