5.0 out of 5 stars You are not going to find many bands like Dead Milkmen, March 14, 2003

This CD is hilarious. The classic song is obviously 'Punk Rock Girl' but there are so many other songs on this release that are just as good like 'Smoking Bananna Peels', 'Bleach Boys', 'The Guitar Song'. The bands sngwriting often gets me wondering 'how do they think up this stuff?' As far as the musicianship, I can not think of any other band that has a similar sound to the Dead Milkmen, which is always good. The best way to describe their sound would be punk tuned down a notch. To me, this is their best release. If you are in a down mood, put this one on-it will get you to smile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Milkmen, January 11, 2002

This review is from: Beelzebubba (Audio CD)
If you had to pick just one essential Milkmen album from their prestigious catalogue, a lot of people would have to go with this one. With an impressive 17 songs, this album gives a taste of all that the Milkmen did best. From Rodney Anonymous' brilliant story-telling on "Stuart," to Joe Jack Talcum's pop-punk sensibilities on "Punk Rock Girl" and "The Guitar Song," to their unique mix of these elements on "I Walk The Thinnest Line" and "Bleach Boys," you really get it all. Virtually every track is a Milkmen classic, which is saying something. If you want a solid intro to this band, get this one; if you already like the Milkmen but somehow don't have this, have your head checked. This album is the definitive road to a magical world where ministers murder golf pros and Ringo finally buys a rifle, and it is not to be missed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Make up your own words. Stuart would., April 20, 2005

The Dead Milkmen were a punkish band that played "funny" songs. They had a somewhat immature sense of humor, but a lot of it was pretty funny. Beelzebubba was their best selling album, because it featured their most popular song, "Punk Rock" girl. That song is a great one, and there are a lot of other funny ones here, too. I particularly like "RC's Mom", which is a James Brown impersonation where he sings about beating his wife. Not all the songs work, but a good percentage of them do. If you like music that has a goofy sense of humor, you will probably get some laughs from this album.
