my favorite things,
By C. L. Eisenhardt "book lover and collector" (Arlington, MA United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

The Tibet Almond Stick is something more than just a furniture and woodword touch-up, it's a borderline miracle. I've used it to 'disappear'
surface and finish scrathes on older furniture, door mouldings and chair rails, even my Steinert grand piano. I woulnd't use it on an heirloom Boston highboy, but then, I don't have one. The 'Stick' is a soft of wick-like material full of some petroleum product that somehow, easily restores superficial finish damage in a flash. (Not to mention that it comes in a beautiful period tin that keeps it viable, literally, for years.) Get one, and you'll be walking around the house for hours touching up your 'shabby-chic' furniture and tired woodwork. A favorite thing!

The magic scratch remover!,

This stuff is too good!
When my mother passed 2 years ago she handed down, not only the antique furniture but, a worn out cotton roll of Tibet Almond Stick. Ah, this must have the miracle rub that kept the wood respectable through two boys and 3 cats. But the real miracle was the fact that one stick had lasted her since the late 1960's when she had inherited the old virgin mahogany, still used today. With a reputation like that, I'm surprised there still in business! It's a must-have for all your wood needs!

I have a rescue dog that is taking longer than usual to break of bad habits, especially jumping. She jumps up on the wooden front door and put multiple scratches.
This product makes the door look brand new. You can't even see where she had done her damage. Highly, highly recommend.

Superior Product, but it can't work miracles,

I recently inherited my mother's teak dining room set, which she purchased the year she got married, 1964. Along with it, she sent the Tibet Almond stick. I asked her where she bought it, cause I wanted to buy one to use with the furniture. She said she didn't know, cause she had never bought one. She had received the one she had as s gift from my grandmother in 1964 when she bought the table. She then said, "You don't need to buy one, cause this one still works, I just used it to retouch this furniture." I didn't quite believe her, so I used it on some of my other wood furniture. Lo and behold, the stick still worked like new! That's 44 years, people. You'll never need to buy another one as long as you keep it in the tin.
That being said, it doesn't work miracles, people. It doesn't fill in scratches. If you have a fine surface scratch, it usually has a white-looking edge to it, and this is an oil that will get rid of the white part of the scratch. If you look closely at the scratch, you will still be able to see it, but it won't be white-looking and noticeable. At quick glance, without closely examining the table, it will appear nice and new. Definitely a product worth buying, esp. since you will only ever need to buy one!

I've used Almond Sticks for years to take care of the inevitable scratches, scuffs, and rubs that are inflicted upon furniture as a result of daily life. Over time they eventually dry out and need to be replaced. They are becoming more difficult to find due to the high profile and commercial hype of other products. It's always a pleasant surprise to find them,

Bamboo floor scratch remover,

I tried several things to mask the white streaks that were appearing in my bamboo floors. I had about given up when I read about Tibet Almond Stick. While it didn't make the scratch totally disappear, it masked the white color and its real difficult now to see the scratch. I'm a satisfied buyer. Only problem: shipping cost more than the product! :-(

After reading the glowing reviews, I figured this stick would work miracles on my wide plank maple hardwood floors. The reality is it hides s small white scratch for a few hours before the oil dries and the scratch is just as visible as before. A much better alternative for hiding scratches is Mohawk Furniture Scratch Remover. I have used Mohawk with amazing results.

Helpful, but not a miracle,

I imagined this would be like a large chapstick, but it's really tightly wound cloth wrapped in paper and saturated in an oily substance. Maybe it can remove the most superficial of scratches, but if the scratch has any depth to it at all, it will still be visible from certain angles. We bought this to remove cat scratches from our dining room table. The product has definitely made the scratches less visible and given the wood a nice, well-conditioned sheen. But like I say, the scratches are still there -- you just don't notice them as much. The only thing that truly "removes" a scratch, I'm afraid, is sanding and refinishing.
