I would reckemend this to anyone, I am going to buy another one soon.

The slingshot folds up very nicely, and will easily fit in your backpack or B.O.B.

I closely inspected where the band broke, right at the end of one rod.

I had one of these years ago. Was slightly different with a rigid wrist brace but basically the same. I recently purchased one of the new 'tapered band' models. It was a joke. Supposedly less pulling force required and 30% more velocity. Seemed about 50% less velocity but the pulling force claim seemed reasonable. Anyway, unhappy with the performance I took it back and unfortunately exchanged it for another 'tapered band' model assuming my first was a defect. Well it was a defect, but in design process rather than in the manufacturing of the product. Second one was no stronger and the band actually snapped. Anyway, purchased this model and it performs great. Just like the one I shot thousands of marbles through as a kid. Much stronger than the tapered bands and also a few bucks cheaper. Sometimes improvements are only improvements to the company's operating income and not to product performance or the company's reputation. Stick with this one over any of the 'tapered band' 'laser hawk' models.

This slingshot is definitely the best folding slingshot on the market. I have some Barnetts (Black Widow and Diablo) and some Trumarks but believe me : this Marksman folding slingshot is the best performing and has the best quality. DO NOT let the low price fool you. This is the one you want.

I had this sling shot for at least four years, and it was wonderful. It shoots great at long distances as well as short. Mine has a magnet on it which is great for shooting beebies(It helped hold them in place). My rubber band did break after four years but I was still happy with it. It is also pretty durable. I would reckemend this to anyone, I am going to buy another one soon.

I bought this for my daughter with a bag of marbles just for fun and let me tell you, it is FUN! Everyone has enjoyed finding their inner Huckleberry Fin and shoot cans off the back fence. It's really easy to use. The rubber part that presses down on your forearm gives you just enough leverage to pull of a shot that can go some distance. We're not a family who owns guns or goes hunting but we do like to do off the wall things sometimes and this fit the bill. It is really well made and easy to use.

NOTE: The Marksman tubes/bands are NOT great in my experience! I quickly replace them with Trumarks red tubes.

BUT! This 3040 and the Trumark S9 are my favorite slingshots. Compared with the S9 (which does not have a wrist brace) this Marksman 3040 is a little big, heavy, and not as quite as quick or simple to put into use.

What I LOVE is Marksman's long, 'flat' wrist brace. It's more comfortable than the 'fat round' wrist braces on Trumark's braced slingshots. It also has the advantage of slipping easily into your hip pocket for an easy carry (see the pictures above from my website).

But I like Trumark's aluminum frames better. The plastic tips on the Marksman's forks make it harder to attach new tubes, and tubes don't seem to last as long. (When replacing tubes: Dip the tips in rubbing alcohol and they will slide on more easily. Adjust them so the pouch hangs straight and let them dry for several hours before you pull on them.)

WHAT I LOVE MOST about the 3040 is that I'm more consistently accurate with it than 'any' slingshot I've used, probably because the long flat wrist brace keeps everything lined up a little better. But my S9's are my primary slingshots now, read that review. Trumark Slingshots Slingshot with Tapered Bands

I've been shooting for about 2 years. This was the first slingshot I bought. Since then, I've bought 4 more, all from major manufacturers. But, I keep coming back to this one. It's accurate, comfortable, and bomb-proof. The bands are fairly to change once you get the hang of it. They're also so cheap! I got mine for $6.

Works well for picking off squirrels in my backyard. Surprizingly accurate, it is a good deal at this price!
