I am pretty disappointed in this gun, and for only a few dollars more, much better ones are available.

I love how it can shoot .22 and .177 caliber pellets.

This is a well made piece that includes both .177 and .22 barrels to provide flexibility in plinking or light varmint shooting. Lovely wood. Scope is cheap, but what do you expect for a little over $200? For an adult, this is a great little piece to have around and should provide hours of fun and years of service.

For kids, this piece might be a little heavy and too long for a boy under 5'6". Also, it takes quite a bit of force to cock the barrel. I purchased it for my son as his first air gun, but I think he will have to grow into it.

All in all, I recommend it but caution people to consider how old/big they are before getting a full sized air rifle like this one.

Gun is precise, it needs the scope to be set right and the included instruction was not sufficient but there are utube videos that are helpful. I can shoot small target (A tennis ball) from 30-40 yards almost every time. So far i used over 750 pellets and it's excellent.
The price was right too and it's nicely packed. I still need to check the 22 barrel.

Ive been looking for a "cheap" airgun where i wont have to spend $500 for a german made or european airgun. I have shot this airgun about 200 rounds now. the accuracy is pretty good and the scope is pretty good too. The only thing i dont like about it is that I have to tighten the barrel screw every 10 shots to make sure the barrel screw isnt coming loose. Another small complaint is the weight of the gun. this is a 10lb gun and can make your arms tired after a few shots. But we all get stronger so that wont be a problem after i get used to it. I have read that putting a little bit of blue loc tite will solve the loose barrel screw problem. Other than that, this gun is POWERFUL and once the scope is sighted in, this gun is a hunting weapon! I love how it can shoot .22 and .177 caliber pellets.

I got the Beeman rifle around the same time as a Gamo Bone Collector .177. I wanted something in .22, and the reviews I read were fairly positive.

I have to admit that this review would be quite different if I had not gotten the Gamo and shot it first. However, the Gamo was only $20 more than the Beeman at a local big box sporting goods store, and I have to say that the Xcel X2 doesn't even come close to measuring up for only a $20 difference, even though it's dual caliber.

Out of the box, it is obvious that this is a Chinese-made gun, even before seeing it printed on the barrel. The trigger, safety, and mechanical parts of the gun all look and feel very cheap. The safety, the cocking action, and trigger all feel rough, a distinct difference from the Gamo.

One thing I noticed when I shot it was that cocking it was a bit difficult. It doesn't seem to engage until the very end of its stroke, and it was almost as if the stock was getting in the way. Also, there was a bunch of grease gooped up on the break in the barrel that I had to remove.

I haven't shot it enough to speak to an accuracy comparison, but this gun is extremely LOUD. It is at least as loud as .22 LR, so if you are hoping to shoot this in your back yard, forget about it. Get something else with a silencer.

I am pretty disappointed in this gun, and for only a few dollars more, much better ones are available. I wish I had not bought it and will probably return it.

I would not recommend this to anyone.
