I was actually fortunate enough to find this very product at a Goodwill store; the mugs have a surprising weight to them, and the glass is quite thick (the walls are 4mm / 1/8" thick) for your standard glassware, and the heavy base proves to reduce sliding to almost nothing. I find it holds a whole 12 oz. can of sugary bevarage with ease, but don't try adding too much ice. I also use it for my hot chai, so it definitely holds up to higher temperatures. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a solid mug (actually, a great all-around glass) in their cupboard.

these would be perfect if it weren't for the seam from the mold down the side of them, I have seen this in other libbey glasses. With the mugs being heavy in nature and your hand will always be resting/pressing up on the handle that seam will be irritating, atleast it is for me. maybe I just got a bad batch...

Ordered two sets of beer mugs hoping, for the price, that they were heavy and well made. They arrived intact and, yes, they are heavy/substantial. The problem, however, is a quite noticeable seam that bisects the mug through the handle and opposing mug surface. On two of the mugs near the top, the seam looks like a crack (glass mold or production flaw). Would not recommend this product.
