4.0 out of 5 stars Little known but BIG Beethoven chorale, April 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Beethoven: Cantates / Voigt, Futral, Opalach (Audio CD)
Der Glorreiche Augenblick - or the glorious moment (eyeblink)- is hard to hear because it's rarely performed and never before recorded. This big NY Chorale does choral music afficinados and Beethoven fans both a big service with this live, concert performance. The fact that it was recorded in Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Lukes is a major plus. There is no mistaking this as anything but Beethoven - it is BIG. The Collegiate chorale makes a big rich sound and even produces German words you can understand. If you want to add to your Beethoven collection, buy it. If you want a big NEW choral experience, buy it.
