In this album, we may perceive once more the genius of Caslas with all its carats. This set was recorded with Otto Shulhof (Sonata 3) and with Mieczyslaw Horszowski (Sonatas 1, 2, 4 and 5)To affirm we are in presence of one of the most legendary musical treasures ever made in the history of music could be sound even exaggerated, but I really like you to listen and once you do, I am sure you will agree. In particular I would like to emphasize the unique, inimitable and insurmountable performance of the Third Sonata Op. 69 , that really breathes an astonishing vitality and overwhelming expression as I have not heard it before. In Paris, June 1939 were recorded The sonatas 1, 2 and 5; while the Op. 69 was recorded in London in 1930 and The Fourth was recorded in Lodon, November 1936. So, please don't hesitate for a moment to get it. |
