I was surprised to find this dvd, it came out of nowhere, but I am glad it did. I've heard Oistrakh and Richters recordings and they are just amazing. This dvd is better than other Oistrakh dvd because it's coloured, which makes it much more enjoyable. The sound is great, the picture is good enough to see each player's technic. The performance is just great, specially the Brahms Sonata, full of energy and accuracy. The Beethoven sonata has many beautiful moments, for my taste the first and third are the best. Definately a must-buy.

This recital was widely commented in that year. Those performances are vivid and magisterial. This admirable duo gave a tour de force performance, with a first - rate program.

This document is part of the recent musical memory.
