4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Movie
This is a funny and adorable movie. We actually like it better than the 1st one. The theme is love instead of violence like the 1st. We laugh our heads off many times during the movie. My kids are five and four.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cuter than the first
BEETHOVEN'S 2ND, in my opinion, is even cuter than the first BEETHOVEN. I laughed REALLY hard when George (Charles Grodin) first discovered the puppies in the basement of his house and said, "OH, no!" Those puppies were REALLY adorable! In my opinion, Regina (Debi Mazar) and Floyd (Chris Penn) were like Cruella and her henchmen, Horace and Jasper! I was glad...

5.0 out of 5 stars BEETHOVEN HAS FOUND A GIRLFRIEND!, March 14, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Beethoven's 2nd [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i watched Beethovens 1st 2nd and 3rd and i got to say this is the best one ever. This movie is about beethoven finding a mate, but the girl (missy) gets taken away by an evil dog napper. Beethoven saves her and she had puppies, but the dog napper soon takes missy away again, now its up to the newton to save the puppies from being drowned, our worse.
I liked this movie because i like dogs and adventures, the puppies are so cute and i cant believe anyone would like to drown them,
before i go i would like to recommend this movie to anyone who likes animals, even if your not a big animals fan you still gotta see this movie

5.0 out of 5 stars The continuing adventures of Beethoven, March 11, 2005

This review is from: Beethoven's 2nd (DVD)
Now that the lovable St. Bernard Beethoven is enjoying life with his new masters, the Newtons,he begins to start a family of his own, biologically. Beethoven impregnates a female St. Bernard named Missy and the canine couple sire four puppies. One of is named Tchaikovsky, after another late classical music great. First,George Newton(Charles Grodin) objects to Beethoven in the Newtons' home, then objects to the mutt's offsprings. The Newton family agreed to find homes for the puppies after they've grown. George's wife Alice(Bonnie Hunt) is now working with her husband at his air freshener factory. One memorable scene is where the Newtons take a vacation up in the mountains, with Beethoven in tow,of course. Missy belongs to a mean-spirited young woman named Regina(Debi Mazar) who is going through a divorce. After the divorce is final,Regina's now-ex-husband is granted sole custody of Missy. The ex-hubby and Missy visit the Newtons in the last scene. This film would one of Grodin's last. Subsequently,he co-starred with Martin Short in CLIFFORD. Grodin's previous films include SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES,IT'S MY TURN,MIDNIGHT RUN and TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS.

This touching movie features incredible animal actors/actresses, oh, and the humans aren't bad, either.

More hysterical funny stuff from yer average St. Bernard.

The kids will love this one. As a parent I found nothing offensive, and so much good stuff to love about the movie.

Worth owning and rewatching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as the first, October 17, 2000

"Beethoven's 2nd" is a good movie, and it's a lot like the original movie. The only difference is that in this one, Beethoven finds a girlfriend and has a bunch of puppies. So George Newton (Charles Grodin) will have even more dogs to roll his eyes at this time around. The children beg their dad to let the new puppies stay until they get grown, and after awhile he agrees. However, not all is smooth sailing for Beethoven, his girlfriend, and the puppies. In ways, this movie might remind you of "101 Dalmatians" because a mean woman and her sidekick are trying to catch the puppies' mom after the woman gets a divorce from her husband, who is the owner of the dog. She might remind you of Cruella De Vil in a way. Beethoven and his family must find a way to keep their puppies and Beethoven safe, just in case the woman decides she wants them too.

Some of the best parts of the movie are when Beethoven and the family go to the carnival and he and Mr. Newton enter a hamburger eating contest, and when Beethoven rips down the complete side of a house. The movie isn't as funny as the first one was, but some parts of it were funny, and the whole movie is good. If you like good family or comedy movies, I recommend getting "Beethoven's 2nd."

5.0 out of 5 stars Beethoven's own family, June 25, 2003
This review is from: Beethoven's 2nd [VHS] (VHS Tape)
So far this is best Beethoven movie ever out of the other Beethoven movies. Beethoven gets a girlfriend and has puppies. But Missy(Beethoven's girlfriend) is owned by a evil women who hates dogs. She just wants Missy for money because she is a pure blood. Beethoven is split from his love throughout the whole movie. I felt sorry for beethoven. But the puppies are okay with Beethoven's owners for a while. Charles Grodin was funny than ever. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. It is funny and heartwarming like the original. I wish I had this movie.
