1.0 out of 5 stars Not from the Bible - unsound Heresy
In the book, H.L. Nigro presents the theories of 19th century American False Prophet John Darby as if they are truth from the Bible. They are not. Even today, John Darby's true followers put his works equal to the Bible. Many Christians don't even know who he was, though they are taught his ideas as if they are the Bible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Biblically Sound and Convincing, November 1, 2001
This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
Before God's Wrath provides a clear, biblical presentation of the timing of the rapture of the church. H.L. Nigro writes in a straightforward style that is neither too lofty nor too simplistic. All relevant passages are examined and the author provides many biblical and logical arguments for the prewrath rapture position. Rather than being purely academic, this book also shows that a proper understanding of the return of Christ is a critical component in living a life of faith. As the End Times rapidly approach, I pray that Before God's Wrath will get a wide reading since it brings a message which is vital for the church today.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!, January 2, 2001
This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
I've searched through books about the rapture and Christ's second coming for quite a few years. It's very hard to find one that doesn't have major assumptions stated as fact on every page. There is no arrogance found here, and every dissagreement the auther has with other views is delivered with much grace. H.L Nigor's book is one of the few I have found on this subject that actually accomplishes to find many truths without stretching the scripture. Not only is there passage after passage quoted from the bible in this book for us to study on our own, I counted 22 charts that help the reader visualize the points H.L. Nigro is making! Unlike many end times books, the foundation of "Before God's Wrath" is not based upon 2 or 3 verses. This book is well worth your valuable time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, it all makes sense!, December 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
After years of listening to the story that all Christians will disappear before the Tribulation begins--an idea I liked, but had serious questions about--I find a book that makes sense about what Christians and non-Christians can expect to happen. The book is well written and well organized. The author answered my questions and a few more I hadn't thought of. In addition, I appreciate how the author uses key verses from the Old and New Testament and links them to the Book of Revelation, thus laying the foundation for the conclusions about when the Rapture will occur.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scripturally sound timing of the rapture, November 16, 2000
This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
Before God's Wrath examines the timing of the rapture from a purely biblical standpoint. The book compares parallel passages in both the Old and New Testament to arrive at the order of the events to form a biblically sound interpretation of end time prophecy. H.L. Nigro uses many tables and timelines to illustrate the biblical view of the timing of the rapture. This approach greatly aids in understanding what the scope of the Bible says about the end times. I can enthusiastically recommend this book for anyone who wants to understand what the Bible really says about the timing of the rapture. Don't be caught off guard by the coming Great Tribulation.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rapture of the Church May Not Be When You Think, November 13, 2000

This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
This book thoroughly and systematically exams the weaknesses of the pretribulation rapture position while at the same time explaining the true timing of the Second Coming of Christ, as it is presented in the Bible. It would be informative both for those who already think they know about the rapture and for those who don't know much, but want to know more. There's a helpful question and answer section at the beginning to get you started. Then, you can either skip ahead and read about specific issues by selected chapter, or start from the beginning and address each topic systematically. So the book is designed to be useful to both those who know a lot about the Bible already and to those who are just average church-going folks. Extensive notes and documentation is there if you want it, but not required for understanding the issues. Critiques of major pre-tribulation rapture scholars are included. Their teachings are sensitively reviewed, but ultimately shown to be inadequate for accurately explaining this important topic. Throughout the book, Ms. Nigro makes it clear that the stakes are high, and urges readers to examine for themselves the texts she puts forth as evidence that to assume that God is going to rapture them out of the world before suffering any of the Great Tribulation could be costly: Awakening to a world overtaken by the Anti-Christ could shake the faith of those who are biblically unprepared because they have casually accepted the pre-trib rapture teachings that are currently dominating much of today's evangelical churches. This book makes it clear that presecution and suffering may face all believers before Christ returns to rapture His Church.

5.0 out of 5 stars Before God's Wrath, November 13, 2000
This review is from: Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It gives a true, Biblically-sound account of the prewrath rapture position. Detailed charts and graphs and scripture references backing each claim provide no doubt as to the extensive research performed on this subject. "Before God's Wrath" is not just another person's opinion on what will happen in the end times, it is rather very clear and irrefutable facts taken directly from scripture. This is a definite must-read for those with a pre-trib, mid-trib or post-tribulation position of the rapture or for those who want to find out more about the prewrath position.

I have been reading and trying to understand the endtime prophecies since I was a kid. If you read the scriptures as they are, especially Matthew 24, you can't help but come to the same conclusions that Nigro does in her book, and that is not the only example. You will reach the same conclusion reading from the books of Mark and Luke. The church, according to Yeshua, is raptured after the great tribulation. The pre-trib teaching a lot of times twist and stretch scripture to make it fit the teaching, especially those found in the two epistles to the Thessalonians. I think this book is a much more accurate interpretation of the end time prophecies. I highly recommend it .

Even today, John Darby's true followers put his works equal to the Bible. Many Christians don't even know who he was, though they are taught his ideas as if they are the Bible.

Darby and Nigro are the false prophets the Bible warned us of that would spring up toward the end times to lead the church away from God and into the arms of the anti-christ. What better way to lead the Church away from god than to convince the people of God that the events of the tribulation can only occur after they are gone.

Real Christians who study prophecy will ask themselves which country's army occupies Babylon today? Why were miliary units rushed in to take careful posession of bablyon during the invasion of Iraq? And which countries leaders hold out the new Bablyon as a example for all other nations? The timing of the rapture is a Heresy whose only purpose is lead people away from the things of God. Nigro himself is almost irrelivant because the message contained in the book isn't even his, its John Darby's.
