very listennable, other sides of the componist,

Nice tracks, different from his classic works or his membership with Deep Purple or Ashton & Lord, which was especially proceeding r&b music. So this piece is not only for fans, cause it is totally different from works as the concerto for group and orchestra, the gemini suite and the very lovely album SARABANDE.

A must for any Jon Lord fan,

This is great. Bach onto this reminds Vangelis. Good musicians, some from Bad Company ! This edition comes with good bonus tracks and the booklet is quite good. There is also an interview from Jon. The master of HAMMOND, although here he plays the piano beautifully. It is not Deep Purple or hard rock at its best, but the songs are quite good. Try also Pictured Within, the best from his solo career in my opinion.

Here is my only complain. I loved the original jacket design (Elephant head). Except this, I strongly recommend this lovely recording to any hard rock or progressive or just rock or great ballad lovers. This is a top-class 'music' (hard to categorize). All are great but my favorite is 'Where are you', which was sung beautifully (well, you should try it yourself) by Elmer Gantry. If you are wondering what was the influence of Jon on Deep purple, try this, machine head and Deep Purple (by 1st line-up; Listen to the greatest "April"). Great.

Another Jon Lord Masterpiece,

"Before I forget" is different from the other albums and I agree that it's not only for fans (like "Windows" and "Gemini Suite").You'll find some very beautiful tracks like "Where are you my friend" which is the one I most think about. Anyone who likes progressive music should buy this record - and someone who most likely forgot, should do it immediately, too. BEFORE I FORGET... Wonderful |
