Love the CD, but after just a few uses it started skipping on Before the Nightfall, my favorite song, and then won't play any further.

I only recently heard of Robert Francis, but already am addicted to his voice and his music. It's so soothing, and the song "Junebug"? AMAZING. Check out the music video here, I'm sure you'll agree: [...]

Right on target,

Robert Francis has a haunting yet simultaneously comforting voice that is endlessly intriguing. His songs are mellow and reflective - I've been playing "Junebug" on repeat for the last 10 minutes (what can I say? Those "oooh"s are addictive), but the whole album is great. Definitely a perfect summer road trip album.

Robert Francis has raised the bar for young singer/songwriters with his major label debut "Before Nightfall". He travels through a variety of sonic landscapes over the course of 12 tracks, but none of them are younger than his 21 years. Influences heard include U2, John Hiatt, The Replacements, Morrissey, Jeff Buckley, and most clearly - Nashville Skyline-era Dylan. Much like Ray Lamontagne's classic debut a few years back, there is a feeling when you listen to this album that you could be listening to it on your reel-to-reel in 1978.

Love it!,

I first heard Robert Francis last summer. His music was perfect for a warm summer's day. My favorite song off the album is Junebug, but they are all great. I would definitely recommend him. He is very talented and I am excited to see what the future holds for him.

Great, but I think...,

that Junebug sounds at the beginning like the Song "Dream" by The Cranberries. But, i think it is still a very, very soundable, lyrical and different CD with potential. We will hear more of him in the near future.

This is one of the best records I have heard in recent memory. Robert Francis at the age of only 22 yrs has made an album that instantly feels nostalgic. His yearning voice and heartfelt songs about love are filled with melancholy yet hopeful swells that knock the wind out of you. This record is an instant classic and a must listen.

The best I've heard in years,

Robert Francis has hit another home run with his new album "Before Nightfall". Beautifully constructed the lyrical depth of his songs are only heightened by a voice so rich and soulful that some of the notes will give you shivers. You won't be disapointed...I promise.

a good change,

Robert Francis is a change from a lot of other music out there. I played it in my car for over a week straight! Some songs are a little better than others, but it all starts to grow on you. I will be buying his new album if and when it comes out for sure. I like his music and way of singing.

I guess I set my expectations too high after Robert's incredible first album One by One. Although this is a good album, Robert is capable of so much more. The lyrics are nothing special and the vocals lack the deep emotion that were so rich on his first album. Kind of seems like he is just going through the motions now. If you enjoyed this album, then PLEASE get One by One. You will be amazed.
